How many times have you yelled, or wanted to yell, "HANG UP AND DRIVE!"
Correct. I prefer to give my full attention to driving. Just from having a simple conversation with my brother I notice that I stop responding to him even if he asked a question if I'm maneuvering in traffic. Once I'm done with the merging, turning, whatever, then I go back to talking. Obviously with light traffic or on highway this isn't a problem. Anyone who says otherwise is full of it and thinks they're not like the rest of us simple minded folk.

Why was distraction not a problem when we had to change music tapes or CD's, or was it and i can't remember or it just wasn't big enough a problem?

Also, if you turn off cell reception in moving vehicles then the kidnapping victim stuffed in the trunk can't call 911. Also, none of your passengers could make or receive calls....hmm...tough problem to solve.

I don't think that reception should be turned off either. CD and tape is kind of a mindless task, but I guarantee plenty of people got into accidents because they looked for a CD or tape. Putting it in doesn't take much away though.

I'm just mentioning the fact that we are distracted and are not nearly as responsive as when we're doing one thing. Science shows.. Experiments show that you can't focus on two things at once and do them well enough. I can drive, eat, and talk. However, if something happens, my talking and eating is put on hold so I can focus on driving. So, I'm actually talking when I'm not doing much "thinking" about the driving.

They already are with the GT350.

As much as I hate to say it, lightweight isn't going to be standard anymore. If you want a lighter car, you'll have to pay for a hipo model.

Cheap, Fast, Light. Pick two.

How much lighter for the GT350? I could find that the GT350R is 130lbs lighter than the regular GT350 (if you delete the AC). I could not find the weight difference for the GT350 vs GT.

Is anyone here fearful that the 200+ lbs of weight lost could be a comparison between....say the 5th gen base car, versus the 6th gen base car with the 4 cylinder?

I mean...I'm as excited about this as anyone (as you can see from my past posts in this thread). I've always predicted that the base Camaro SS would end up somewhere near 3,700 lbs, and the V6 model around 3,500 - 3,550. If true, that would be sweet.

But I just wish we'd have confirmation that "yes, 200 difference between base SS models, or base V6 models" or something of that sort.

I doubt we will get final weight, or power figures on launch day either, so we could be waiting quite a good while to know the answer to this question.

There appears to be an 88lb difference between the V6 ATS and the 2.0T (compared both luxury trims) according to the Cadillac website. Think that can at least squash it being 4 to 6 cylinder figure.

One thing that would be really nice is just standard track recaro seats. No power seats, my GT500 has these and they are light and really comfortable. Once you adjust them you don't have to move them. They are really light compared to a power seat. I would even pay to have a power seat delete in the 6th gen. Might sound strange to some, but I really don't use the power seat. Its set, then the weight just sits there.

Totally agree. And the seats should be cheaper too. Cloth Recaros would be an awesome option.

Agreed on the cloth option. Would be more comfortable in hot weather.
