I strongly suggest that you check the wheel section on the phastek peformance website, thats's where I purchased my wheels and spoke to them via email several times prior to making the purchase and they were extremely helpful. Phastek advised me that the wheels I was purchasing for the front of my car would not fit a 305 up front and they were right, I took their word on that and knew I would have to go with spacers. Even with the spacers, the front tire still doesn't stick out or look awkward. It's a good idea to talk to them even if you don't think you will purchase from them, they did have the best price so I went with them for that and their excellent customer support. Good luck and keep us updated.

Thanks for the info. Did you upgrade your axles when you went to the wider tires? A friend is running 315's on 11" wheels and he snapped his axles recently doing burnouts....so I was reconsidering that size. I imagine that your wider wheels strick out of the fender a little more than stock, correct? Could you possibly post some pics??

I want to put winter wheels and tires on the wifes new Camaro SS.

I am thinking of going 2 routes with the tires either 255/50/R19 or 275/45/R19 all around with either Dunlop's as the 255 size or Bridgestones as the 275.
I think the 275/45/R19 should fit on the front but not sure so would appreciate some input.

Also having trouble deciding with the wheels. Can't decide if I want to go 19x8, 19x8.5, or 19x9.

I know the 19x8 and 19x8.5 would be fine with the 255/50/R19 tires but there is not a whole lot of choices of 19x9 pressure cast wheels out there so I was wondering if I had to could I mount the 275/45/R19 on 19x8.5 wheels? Conversely can I mount 255/50/R19 tires on 19x9 wheels?

Hello, I´m from Germany an must say, this forum is very good
Also good are the informations that i have for everybody who is interrested in tires and rims (for Camaro-Use).
The informations are from the "European Tire And Rim Technical Organisation" (called ETRTO).
I just listed tire-sizes that may be interesting for Camaros.
From the base of stock tires (245/45R20 and 275/40R20) that have a rolling-circumference of 222 cm, I listed tires that are max. +/- 2% difference to stock tires. Note, that this is a total of 4% in difference and that you should just use combinations (front to back-tires) that have max. 2 % difference in rolling-circumference because of the Brake-System (ABS). The datas include the (in Europe) allowed rim-wides for each tire-size. If you want to use smaller or larger rim-wides, this is just allowed with permission of the tire-company, and just for 1/2 inch wider or smaller. Smaller rims are just useful for Off-Roading, because the driving-stability is bad. Wider rims give maximum driving-stability, but worst protection for expensive rims (through the tire) in case of side-impact with curb-stone. Enough blabla, just the translation of the headlines and what they mean:

The fat and yellow line is the measure rim
Größe = tiresize
freigegebene Felgen = allowed rims for this size of tire
max. Reifenbreite = maximum wide of the tire on this rim
max. Durchmesser = maximum Diameter of tire (by driving, not static!)
Abrollumfang = rolling-circumference

Thats it, sorry for bad english and hopefully the Attached files will work.

Load Ratings

Greetings,

I have the dreaded 21 inch wheel option on my 2011 SS vert. Bought the car ~ 1yr ago and it's time for tires.

Obviously the P zeros are very expensive so I have been searching for other options.

I found the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 2. 245/35/R21 front 275/30R21 Rear

Issue/concern: The OEM tires have load ratings of 100Y (max load 1764) front / 103Y (max load 1929) rear. The Hankooks have load ratings of 96 Y XL (max load 1565) Front / 98Y XL (max load 1653) Rear.

Will this load rating difference disqualify the Hankooks for my car?

Thank you,

Rick

I'm just trying to get some feedback.. Can anyone help? I bought some niche wheels 20x8.5 front and 20x10.5 rear. Tire size 305/45 20 nt555r (rear) what tire size (on front) will fit well without the sensors acting weird?

You could run your factory 245/45-20. I'd stay within a 1/2" of the 305 height either way to keep the sensors from freaking out.

Recommended 20" tires for 2010 Camaro
245/45-20 = 28.7" tall, 8.0-8.5 wheel
255/45-20 = 29.0" tall, 8.0-8.5 wheel
265/40-20 = 28.4" tall, 8.5-9.0 wheel
275/40-20 = 28.7" tall, 9.0-9.5 wheel
285/40-20 = 28.9" tall, 9.0-10.0 wheel
295/35-20 = 28.1" tall, 9.5-10.5 wheel
305/35-20 = 28.4" tall, 10.0-10.5 wheel
285/35R20 = 27.9" tall, 10.0-11.0 wheel
315/35-20 = 28.7" tall, 10.5-11.0 wheel

I am looking to buy Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (Tire rack said they'll have some next week) and I'm not sure what size will work for my front wheels. I currently have 315/35R20 rear and 275/40R20 front. The PSS don't come in a 275/40R20 and I have 9.5" front rims. What would be the best option for my front tires? Thanks

These are 315s on 10X20s on the rear. BTW, I did check to ensure 315s were ok on 10s and they were, although not the optimal recommendation.

Not all 18's, you'd have to check or ask about specific models
