Yeah, I sent that to the dealer AND opened a chat on Chevy.com, both say the bulletin is basically out dated.

50$ and an hours time to do it.

So they are charging for a feature that was supposed to be included & advertised to be in the car?

Call GM or find another dealer. Unless your car's B2B warranty is gone, it is covered.

After I jammed them up a little bit, here is the response I got, which I take as a half truth. The bulletin DOES state that there needs to be a coupon from GM for cars that had already been purchased.

"I apologize sir, but that bulletin states that the selling dealer was supposed to install it while they possessed it as part of the PDI process. That is the only way that a dealer can get reimbursed by GM for the install. From your vehicle VIS sheet the dealer had the car from Dec 2, 2015 to Oct 14, 2016 when you purchased it and they did not do the install. I have talked to the service manager and we will do it for a discounted price of 35 to cover technician time as a courtesy for you if you wish to proceed."

Yea I'd be done with them and ask to speak to the regional GM rep. myLink is covered as part of the B2B warranty. Any updates to it during that timeframe would be considered warranty work. If they don't know how to file the paperwork, then they are incompetent or crooked. PDI items also include recalls. They wouldn't charge for a recall fix now would they? Find you another dealer.

I just got my car 2/16/2018 (Its a 2016) I discovered that it does not have the Android Auto installed. After an online chat with Chevrolet's Infotainment department and a phone call to the GM rep, both informed me that there is no longer a coupon available and that the dealership may at their own discretion charge me to update the software..... and they both went out of their way to let me know it is NOT cover by B2B.

Just thought I would update everyone on how things are in February of 2018.

There has to be a way to jailbreak these infotainment units and do things to them.

Even without warranty, isn't it about $50 anyway?

That sucks. The salesman at the dealership used his own phone cable to set up my phone before I left the lot and showed me how to use it.

Update:

I was able to get my car in to the dealer this past Friday (March 30th,2018) and they updated my software to have Android Auto. This was done at no charge and only took about 45 minutes.

Extremely happy this got settled.

Dealers can now do the updates for those interested.
Anyone know if this is still valid and in affect? Mine is a 17'SS.
