the lonestar corvette club was over today. i was excited to get some laps on the brick with the new redneck ZLE kit. we were doing mostly ride and drives. this is cool because i drove some amazing high dollar custom cars. the problem is, i wanted a real lap in the brick. got to lead the lead follow laps in it but couldnt get the car behind me to come on so it was touring laps at best. car felt great but im not good enough to know for sure. i want some dang data. at 3 pm they had called the flag guys in so its over for the day im thinking. my friend asked matt if we could go out to get a timed lap. he said fine and after an out lap and one timed lap i dropped 3.2 seconds over my very fastest lap ever. this is all setup and not driver. the new 1le shocks and struts are that much better than the fe3 corvair suspension. if you have the fe3 and you track, get that stuff off of there.

Just an FYI, I saw on 10/10's Facebook page that the NCM track was issued a stop operation notice for noise...this may put a damper on track use, hopefully they clear up before the fest...

www.bgdaileynews.com I'm not sure why after all this time with the track being opened, it's now a problem with noise. Like all tracks I go to there are db limit's I'm sure nothing will come out of this, the NCM facility brings in way to much money to the community. Michael

I talked to the track. This is nothing that is shutting down the track. They are still running and do have a couple things to get taken care of over the next couple of months. But...a multimillion dollar track like this won't shut down over this small issue. All is well.

Motorsports park ordered to stop events until meets noise standards
By KATIE BRANDENBURG kbrandenburg@bgdailynews.com | Posted 24 hours ago The National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park today was issued a notice of violation by the City-County Planning Commission in response to complaints from neighbors about noise. The notice, issued this morning prior to a meeting of neighbors at the park on Grimes Road, calls for all building construction and event-related activities to cease within 24 hours. It states the property is out of compliance with the Warren County Joint Zoning Ordinance. Planning commission staff report they delivered the NOV this morning, but as of press time Wendell Strode, executive director of the National Corvette Museum, had not seen the document. The notice calls for the motor sports park to comply with adopted binding elements for the property and conditions of approval of the detailed development plan approved for the property, including installation of a noise abatement structure. Neighbors in recent weeks complained about the noise created by the park, including at a planning commission meeting two weeks ago. The notice also calls for a detailed construction site plan compliance summary that verifies all existing buildings along with other structures and a site summary including seating capacity, the control tower under construction and all planned meeting spaces within seven days of the NOV being issued. Within 30 days of the notice, a detailed construction outline and timeline must be issued to comply with binding elements and the detailed development plan approved for the development, including a noise abatement structure. It should be verified to the planning commission the site is in compliance with adopted binding elements and conditions of approval for the site’s detailed development plans within 90 days of the notice being issued. An event is scheduled for July 10 at the park. “10/10ths Motorsports was conceived out of pure passion for the sport, and we have implemented that passion into every aspect of our operation. We welcome drivers of all skill levels, from the 1st timer to the experienced racer. We have a group that fits you just right,” the park’s website states. The park opened in time for the museum’s anniversary in September and had a ribbon-cutting ceremony mid-month that drew Gov. Steve Beshear. The Motorsports Park completes what Beshear called a “Corvette trifecta” that includes the General Motors Bowling Green Assembly Plant and the Corvette museum. “There can be no doubting the lure of the track as a tourist attraction – speed,” Beshear said. The park was constructed with millions of dollars from private donors, but included a $400,000 special projects tourism grant from the Bowling Green Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. Those grants are approved for projects that will bring additional visitors to stay in the county’s motel rooms.

We intend to move forward with the agreement reached at the meeting, therefore the NCM Motorsports Park will fulfill all contracts with our renters as well as continue construction on our planned facilities at the NCM Motorsports Park. We plan to move forward with business as usual, we will not cancel any scheduled events and will continue to book events for future years. The management team continues to work closely with the local Planning Commission, sound company and neighborhood committee and is making all efforts to bring quick resolution to the noise complaints. Our goals are to offer impeccable customer service to our renters and guests, and be a good neighbor to our community. We also plan to meet with appropriate officials, to respond timely to the notice and to provide updates on the progress toward total compliance. Although it will take some time to have the sound sources and levels evaluated, determine possible options for mitigation, and implement the appropriate solution, we feel that we are making progress and have a good plan in place. Neighbors commented that they are supportive of the Motorsports Park operations and want it to be successful, as long as the noise does not impair their ability to enjoy their home and property. That is our goal as well. |

This will not affect our events. No worries. We've been in contact with the track on this.

I found a good video by John Heinricy and Andy Pilgrim discussing the proper line for NCM Motorsports park with corner by corner review of the grand course with chicane. It is a big help for me on what to look for and setting the car up for each turn in and track out.

Wow that discussion is great. Thanks RLHMARINES. I've been watching a lot of other people's track videos and this is key stuff to look for and get comfortable with.
