Arrrggghh... It's True!

If you hadn't posted it, I probably would have never noticed, now it's going to bug me.

I noticed something similar on the Dodge cars as well. The Challenger displays a picture of a Charger if I remember correctly. I thought it was weird

The door itself looks like it's off a Tahoe

I think you're right. That sound very familiar from when I looked at challengers.

It doesn't bother me at all. I just thought it was funny.

It's because your car secretly wants to be a Gen5...

I get sharing parts is definitely a SixSigma cost reduction and a production booster.

But the icon in the display can be programmed to anything they want, and software changes require little time and no parts.

At the point the software is installed, probably from a memory stick, the first menu would have a selection of the cars that the same IP is installed in, or same software that is used. The installer simply selects which car that specific IP will be installed on and when the software is installed, it shows the silhouette of the proper car.

Pretty simple and does not require additional parts or complication on the assembly line (or wherever the IPs are produced)

Frankly it kills me that the attention to detail here is lost. A silhouette of the 5th gen on the 6th gen IP. Come on GM, pay attention!!!!

They're screwing with all of us who traded in our beloved 5th gens for these amazing cars. Lol

Dude, you have issues. I haven't even seen that screen! I just noticed the other day (2500 miles) when the backup warning sound goes off you get the car with distance lines.
