Austin TX peeps

Flying out Thursday to Don Hewlett Chevy in Georgetown to pick up the ZL1. Going to make it a mini 3 day vacay with possible stops in Lake Charles and for sure in Biloxi on my drive back to Destin Fl. Thinking about staying in that area for the night Thursday. Best places to stay around Austin/Georgetown ?

You'll be way up north, so I'm not as familiar, but definitely find a Torchy's while you're in town!

5 hotels within a mile of the dealership.
Hilton Garden Inn. 2310 I-35, Round Rock, TX 78681 is nice. And there are several restaurants around it. Rudys bbq, Saltgrass. If you have time, take in a Round Rock Express baseball game. 5 miles from hotel. Was your salesman Mike? Sold me my 2012 ZL1. Great guy to deal with. Was going to buy an 18 ZL1 from him, but got a good deal on a 17.

Stay in the downtown area! Driskill, JW Marriott, The Modern, San Jose Hotel, South Congress Hotel, etc. A ton of options but get the full flavor of Austin. The trendiest area for visitors is probably South Congress (SoCo). Do not stay up in Georgetown/Round Rock area. Nice places, but just a suburb. No offense meant to anyone!

Congrats on the pickup!

I love the Destin area. Going there next month to visit family. They are close to Panama City Beach. Wish my ZL1 was coming with so it could meet its relative as well.

Torchys is good, they just need get homemade tortillas instead of the bagged ones they use that are not as fresh, although the guacamole/queso makes up for it. I would go for some Pappasitos

I agree on Torchy's when you are in Austin - do not pass up the Queso. You can always check out the S. Congress bats in the evening if you're into that, then drive down to Torchy's few blocks away.

Franklin's BBQ. I had it last week when I was there for a conference and it was delicious. I also checked out NLand surfing which was a cool experience.

If you stay in the northern burbs of Austin..Salt Traders Coastal Cooking is good (not too far from Rudy's mentioned above) on I 35 access road.

Like other's I would suggest going downtown to 6th Street Entertainment district for live music, Rainy Street for bar scene, or South Congress to get a feel for the eclectic side of Austin.

There is a torchys off of the 79 which will be closest to the dealership... staying in Round Rock would be better than Georgetown as you are closer to Austin... Also make sure you make a visit to flix brewhouse to catch a movie. One of my favorite things to do for sure.
