2014 SS vs 2014 Subaru STI
Been looking at both pretty seriously, the camaro would be major fun and they are pretty rare around here but the STi would be better around here come winter time. i'm wondering how they fare head to head in performance department. Assume totally stock.

I'd go for the Camaro, but I may be a bit biased.

Camaro is quicker, but those little STi's are fun. My brother bought a '15 WRX and absolutely loves it. If you have any winter driving to do it would definitely fare better than any Camaro... but if it's just gonna be your summertime fun toy, go with the SS.

The ss is a bad ass machine.. But I could see how the Sti would be useful for you come winter time. Not too many winter worries around here in tx. But I go to Colorado yearly and all I see Is subarus in the mountains. Winter time is the good racing weather in tx.

I have both (2013 2ss rs ls3 camaro) and 2011 sti limited sedan. Both have thier own advantages. The sti can take the ss on launch from a dig but the ss eats it up by 50 mph. From a roll its the camaro all day.
Handling though the sti is a win win all the way around. In the winter the sti is the way to go (in ohio and the n.e), in Texas it does not matter really. I love both cars but if i lived in the south 100% of the time jt would be the ss, If i lived n.e or mid west I would opt for the sti. Either way man you cant go wrong. The sti cannot be a V8 and takes 6-7k to make it hang with a stock ss. Thats my unbiased .02 |

The STI is a fun ass car.
Driven a number of my buddies STis and their fun as hell. But then again my ZL1 spanks them lol But if your getting the SS I would say AWD is always a fun thing to have. |

Yeah i'm in the midwest, right off lake michigan so an STi would be majorly more beneficial year round. I can't decide cause if i go STi i'm gonna trade in my current car, but if i go camaro i'm gonna keep it and just garage the camaro winter months. Thankfully i've got a few months to decide. Really wanna hear the roar of that V8 though haha.

Performance speed wise the 1le and ss will destroy an sti. On road coarse and in windy and curvy mountians my money will go with the sti. I have not driven a 1le to be 100% honest but would venture it would not take turns like the sti. Thats where they shine really

The STI has a hell of a hole shot.
However even an auto SS will run him down with ease. Stock for stock, of course! |
