Camaro vs. Mustang vs. Challenger.
Well I'm sure this has been beat to death but with the announcement of the new hellcat I just wanted to know everyone's opinion on where it would fall on the muscle car food chain! My own opinion would be that the GT500 would take it at the strip and the ZL1 would take it on a road course. Glad to see dodge putting more effort into the muscle car war though.

Drag GT500> Hellcat> ZL1. I think it's gonna be close with ford and dodge at the strip. We all know the only thing the ZL1 has going for it is the track and corners.

Hellcat 6.2SC is rumored to be 700hp with available 8 speed auto..
If thats true, its going to be tough to beat in a straight line |

I think you guys are jumping the gun a little thinking the GT500 will take a Hellcat at the drag strip. Seeing how it will have a 8 speed auto option I think it will be as fast or faster than a GT500 at the strip. However I wouldn't be surprised if it were more expensive. We will just have to wait and see.

Word is that the Hellcat did indeed gain 200 lbs and should come in at around 4450 lbs. So regardless of the 8 spd Auto, its facing a 600lb deficit. Also the GT500 is geared perfectly for the 1/4 mi, stock it shouldnt have to shift out of 3rd to cross the finish line.

I think it will be closer even with the increased weight i mean look at what the 5spd 392s run. This car will have a 8spd with the right tires it should be a bullet off the line.
