Your right. I forgot about the back flow valve.

Yeah either that or you'll throw a rod lol

I had the same experience as BLU BY U, my pressure after the first oil change (~500 miles) dropped to just above the first tick from previously being just under 30.

An interesting thing happened today. My oil pressure went up to just under 30 today again. The only thing I did differently was rev the motor to 5000 rpm for the first time (not really intending to). Anyone else see this pattern? I thought maybe a valve in the filter (AC PF48) or engine bypass may have been stuck.
Have you had the chance to get a proper diagnosis by a dealership? I would recommend going this route since you may have a warranty on the vehicle.

I dont know if its the synthetic or by design but it bugs me everytime I see how low it is.

this will take getting use too....i see the 25 and about

Yes.

I think that was the reason I first joined Camaro5. The V6 pressure is always high. Pinned when you first start her up.

I noticed just yesterday when first started up it was almost at 60psi and too me a little by surprise. After warming up though, it sat 29-31.

Reading this easied my concerns a little.

Hmmm...I remember chucking an old distributor shaft in the engine, attaching an electric drill and spinning the oil pump to push oil thru the engine. Pull the old distributor shaft, put in distributor, adjust basic timing and fire the engine.

That is actually much higher than the others in this thread have reported (about 45 psi).

Hmmm... Just thought I would check this forum to see what others are showing for PSI because I just changed my oil (Mobile1 synthetic) with the recommended 8 qts for a 2013 2ss and my PSI is almost maxed out when I rev the engine. This look bad? I drove about a mile today and the PSI was almost all the way to the right on the gauge. Is there a sensor that might warn me if the PSI is too high?

I have never seen my gauge read that low at idle. My hot oil pressure at idle is 28-29 psi since day 1.
