Unless you're competitively racing your car weekly on the track, do not get it. Even at that point it depends on what racing you're doing.
The amount of rice that is for a street, daily driven car could feed an Asian family for a year.

I agree, I think it adds a nice sporty look to the car, just not practical for daily use.

You just described exactly why we hate it. Rice is Form over Function

The wing is on a Camaro, obviously not a ricer. So idk why people are making a big deal out of it. When ricers put wings on Honda's that are FWD...now that's just stupid. Any kind of wing on a RWD is useful just maybe not for the slow everyday driving, but it will still do something unlike a Honda rear wing.

As long as it has a function it's good in my book.
That is a racing camaro. Racing camaros need downforce. I don't like the looks of them but it helps put the power down so I'm all for them. Basically, put a big spoiler on your high powered race car. Not on your Dodge Neon. |

The purpose of splitters and spoilers/wings is usually to improve the handling of the car. If the rear tires are losing traction first (oversteer/loose), a wing will help -regardless of which wheels are powered. Likewise, if the front tires max out first (understeer/tight) a front splitter can improve things. Now, I'm sure that 99.99% of all Honda Civics with a huge rear wing aren't being driven on race tracks where they could potentially see a benefit. But the idea of putting a wing on a FWD car is not fundamentally wrong.

The splitter is good for any car at high speeds.
It puts down force on the front of the car so the front end doesn't lift and cause the wheels to slide out or the whole car to go flying at high speed. |
