I found that last night some idiot stole my customized license plate, took the screws and everything....Faith in humanity...lost

Do turn on the TV. You'll see a news report about a bank robbery and a stolen getaway car with stolen plates.

The custom plate holder? Or the actual license plate? It's not like they can use it on another vehicle (well, for too long). Especially if it's a Camaro related vanity plate on some Hyundai.

EDIT: Also, I picked up plate frames a year or so ago with special screws that claim to deter theft. Instead of Phillips/flat head screws, they have a star shape and include a special allen key.

Some years ago when I was a poor college student (instead of a poor IT professional) I got pulled over in my truck because someone had peeled the year sticker off of my license plate. Thanks, butthole. Glad I could help you get away with not having to pay for your registration.

The plate, probably thought it was cool, or are going to use it for a crime. I want to know if I will ever be able to use he same plates again or not.... I am looking into plate security brackets, any that you would recommend?

They probably took my plate because it was still practically brand new stickers, plus they got a USAMADE plate out of it for a souvenir....

Sucks, you likely won't get the same plate, but report it right away. Down here there has been a rash of license plates being stolen and replaced with the license plate off of a stolen car.

Were you in Michigan? Good chance it was my ex-wife. Early 90s she and her dbag stud-muffin stole my S10 and went on a cross country spree. When I got it back 2 years later there were a couple of non-matching stickers stuck over the last expired one.
