That's interesting. Thanks for that info. The calibration needs to be certified, so it's definitely not random.

My 1SS only has the NPP option and NLS does not appear to work on it.

I test drove a 1ss non-1LE and a 2ss car, both had NLS as I tested it out on both of them.

If you feel like the NLS isn't working then take the car to the dealer. That should be pretty clear, there could be a sensor not working or a code tripped keeping the car from allowing NLS to work.

The 1ss I drove was a base model, only had the regular exhaust and it did it.

GM does not advertise the feature. I don't think a dealer would work on troubleshooting this.

I would like to see video proof of the no lift shift feature in action on a non-1LE SS car. The test would be 100% pedal acceleration in 1st gear, clutch in, shift to 2nd, don't let clutch out and confirm that the engine speed does not hit 6500rpm while at 100% pedal the whole time.

I'm not questioning whether or not someone can execute a "no lift" powershift. I'm questioning if there's specific algorithm in action on the non-1LE SS cars which holds engine speed at or less than where the clutch was pushed in since mine and several others apparently do not have it and do not have any fault codes.

I drove a automatic 5th gen before, so holding down the pedal all the way to the floor was never a problem for me.

But I really think that the non-1LE doesn't have NLS.

2017 1SS bought in December 2016.
I don't think it is a NON-1LE issue, as i've explained, my attempt at NLS resulted in instant redline, and huge lurch and loud clunking...I have a 1LE.

Sweet...I've been banging away on my tranny thinking it has NLS this whole time. That's what I get for listening to forum members and not Chevy

You are tuned though, did you try it when the car was stock?
Maybe the NLS parameters were changed when your car was tuned.

For the record you may have it. At this point it seems completely random lol. Best test is to go out bring her up to ~6000rpm's clutch in with your foot planted on the throttle, at this point just see how it responds with both the clutch and throttle completely pressed without completing the shift, if it doesnt result in rpms dropping its not active.

You cant change or see the NLS parameters, it is not in the ECM side of the system from what I have seen.

With the calibrations being certified with the agencies, there's no way this is random. It could be a running change (intended or not) that only affected some calibrations though.

I would like to hear straight from Al O. and team an explanation on this one, especially if I'm doing something wrong. At Camaro Fest 7 I got mixed answers on whether or not the SS had no lift shift. Half the employees said yes, the other half said no. Al O. said it has NLS, so I came out of there thinking my car had it, but when I tested it out a few times, it's clear my car does not have it (or I'm doing something wrong and not meeting ALL the enable conditions for it to work).

What's the best way to get a response from the Camaro engineers on this?

Awesome vid and that is definitely power/no lift shifting. Thanks for sharing.

I tried it yesterday after reading all the new info/comments. My RPM's continue to rise until the clutch is fully released so I assume I don't have it. Truth be told, it always made me nervous doing it and now I know why. It never worked the way I imagined it should.
