Muffler Delete?
I'm looking to do a muffler delete on my L99 if it's fairly cheap. Anyone had this done in the DFW area? If so how much was it?

Its a $50 mod, but why run without mufflers? Are you keeping the resonator on too or removing it?

I have a muffler delete on mine, and while I do like the tone, it's just too quiet for me. Plus I don't want to have to deal with risking not passing an inspection when I'm up for one and have to head back to Texas from school to do it, so I'm replacing it with an axle-back. You also have a HORRIBLE drone from the AFM kicking in, unless you get a range delete or tune it out (thus voiding warranty).
Just tossing in my two cents. |

We have the SLP Loudmouth on ours that we picked up on here used for $160 (essentially a muffler delete). We removed the resonators too and it sounds great. It's a great cheap starting mod and if you don't like the tone you can always go out and buy something else instead.

I was planning on keeping the ginormous resonator on for sure. Just a muffler delete. I just need this thing to make some noise for now. I am planning on eventually buying a Solo Mach XL cat back system, so this just has to last me until that point. This thing is way too quiet though, I need some noise!

A tune is probably not far off. My uncle has the complete Vector kit for his G8 GT, as far as I understand it the hardware is the same for the Camaro, so I would just need to purchase a tune from them and load it in ($300).

That's kinda the route I went, got the muffler delete to make noise for the time being, but am ordering an axle back within the next week and an xpipe not too long after. Unfortunately I'm still dealing with the AFM, cause I don't want to lose warranty and I haven't seen a used Range device for sale lately.

Vector is just a tuning company.
BravoMyles since you have done what I want, be totally honest with me. Is the AFM noise really that bad? I mean it's worth it to me to get the V8 noise I should have if I have to deal with an annoying noise every now and then. I had long tubes and an axle back on my V6 which was obnoxiously loud, so I can handle a bit of drone... Sent from my Droid DNA using Tapatalk |
