Awkward discussion at the dealer today

So I went to my trusty GM dealer sales rep to start pricing out a Camaro, talking trade-in value, etc...and at some point he stops, looks me in the eye, closes the office door (all around glass walls) and says: if i told you to wait for something special around mid next year, would you? I said...I don't know, what do you mean by special?
He gave a long stare and whispered, in two words: Trans-Am!

Hmm, very odd. If it's BS, then what's his motive? The whole conversation doesn't make sense. Not from your perspective OP, but from the sales person's. I honestly don't know what to think of it. Sorry OP, I can't offer any insight, just puzzlement................

i dont think its completly out the window to see a "firebird appearence pack", prob just some decals and other bumpers

I doubted him as well, however, I have been dealing with this person for the past 3 years and with this dealership for the past 13 years. They always treated me well, they were always courteous, professional and never BS'ed me. To be honest, they are the reason I went back and got another GM instead of anything else. I never got the "let me talk to the manager" crap and I got (from them) a Regal, a Cobalt, an Equinox, a Malibu and now I am planning on getting a '14 Camaro.
I would not wait for it, I like the Camaro the way it is (ok, maybe I like the older rear end better) and I want to get it. It is a great engine, a great package, a mature car. Hopefully, all the financing things will fall into place and I get it.
As for the sales rep, he's been in the business for 25 years or so. Why would he lie to me, I don't know. I mean, it is a sale after-all. We will see soon enough.
But, what if he is right?

Interesting..

Either he 's trying to sell you the new camaro, by selling the existing 5gens by the time you find out there wont be any trans am!
Or, he's right, and GM will fool us all big time. I'd Love to see a trans am with a slightly different approach to the alpha platform..

Of course, he could just be trolling!
