RPM did a dyno test with stock air box, Rotofab no tune and Rotofab with tune.
Corsa should be very similar. https://youtu.be/7-bRgzzeZfQ . Last edited by Dave777; 12-15-2021 at 04:09 PM. |

100% true. my car and at the dyno I worked part time at. you feel the difference for sure.
We pulled multiple baselines, swapped out the intake on the dyno, did mutlipe more pulls. No tune due to the car still being under warranty. They tried MULTIPLE styles before doing this one on my car. It is no smoke and mirrors. my car is the one in the picture and their test mule.

Have any sound clips of it that you can share? I'm definitely interested!

It's hard to hear the SC wine in the video due to it being inside. But I will try and capture it in stealth mode

I wish people would dyno these: a) after 20 mins of road driving for the computer to "learn" the new box, and b) with the hood down since that is how the car actually operates.
If it's only an hour or so later, even with a 20 min drive, the conditions should still be pretty similar but at least we would know if the computer "relearns" and compensates backwards even with the additional airflow (as is rumored). Also, with the hood up the air filter is free to pull air from the less restrictive surrounding open atmosphere. With the hood down it has to pull from a more restrictive intake tract.

not only do they try different styles, some which actually lost 50hp, they also test other manufactures intakes on my car at the same time. They can't be dyno'd with the hood down because you can't create enough airflow to keep the car cool like it would be on the road, so it actually would be getting MORE air on the road with the hood down not less. The car is designed to flow air through the car and to the intake area. The intakes actually produce more power on the road due to the volume of air flowing to and through the car.

The car immediately started to advance and pulling timing as soon as we tried different styles and boxes. One even threw a SEL. it adjust for safety (AF), but not power. The car still has the same power increase as it did when we tested it. I was going to have a dyno before the winter weather hit, but they took my car again and installed the double "X" pipe cat back system on it and didn't have time to get to the shop. wont be back out there until spring now.

they also due a ton of airflow testing through all of their products. intakes and exhausts. obviously the better and smoother the air flows the more power it will produce. I actually was going to go with the AFE intake before they approached me to use my car. They were testing new truck intakes at the shop when they saw my car. Once I saw, heard, and felt the intake on the car, I was very pleased.
