Hellcat

Anyone else find it hilarious that a good driver in a ss can take down the average hellcat driver in a 0-60?
Sure it will beat a ss on the freeway, but I just couldn't stop laughing taking down a hellcat.

I dont really find that surprising. Put 600+ whp under your foot. Traction is non-existant.

Z06 makes it off the line fine and I'm sure the ZL1 will do just fine.
The 275s are not helping that thing. I think 275 is to small for my SS, I can only imagine what it is like trying to use 1st in a hellcat.

Unsure about the hellcat's but it is pretty difficult to find that sweet spot trying to take off in 1st through 3rd on street tires. It's shitty but if you want to hook you'll need a drag radial on the street for sure. But then you lose longevity and driving in the rain now becomes an anxiety filled trip until you get back home.

I wouldn't doubt it that a hellcat would lose to car's with a few hundred whp less off the line.

Listen like any car you can find bad drivers, go to your local dragstrip on any Friday night and just watch all the cars which should be 12-sec rides, running 14s. A properly driven hellcat on a good track is capable of low 11 second runs on the stock rubber, so I wouldn't get too excited over bad or inexperienced drivers, save that kind of hype for the other S550 forum.

If you can hook on a street tire you need more power. One of my friends owns a Hellcat Challenger which (on a drag radial) 60's at 1.51 and trips the lights at 6.91 1/8th mile. I haven't seen 2016 Camaro come anywhere close to that. He did chan ge to a 3.09 rear gear though.

Are you referring to the 6th gen SS? Cause mine hooks just fine. And I expect to launch with zero spin from 3k when my new rims are mounted with wider STREET tires.

We have a challenger hellcat here in town. At the track he runs 11.1 on drag radials pretty consistent, all over the place on stock tires. 11.5-12.9 at track.

I cannot decide if I like the sound of that Mustang or not but those mufflers go a long way to making it sound more like the gt350 which I wouldn't have thought they would do given the engine configuration.
Please send me a link to the hellcat video when it is posted.
Compared to how my car dusts mustangs:
Those mods helped a lot
Has that Mustang dynod?
You do a really good job of making videos

Went looking for said video. Huge let down

If my experience stays true, I expect to see the SS walk on the Hellcat pretty handily. When at the strip here locally, I was only beat by one of them and he was modded and had slicks and I was on Eagle F1 Supercar G2's. The Manual hellcat drivers didn't stand a change and the Auto guys couldn't keep from blowing the 275s off either. I am very pleased with how well this 2016 SS puts the power down.
