Skip shift solution (not what you think)
I have found a solution to the skip shift feature, and it is not a skip shift eliminator. So i was driving in stop and go traffic for about 45 minutes, and i was basically stuck in first and second gear. Right at the speed where you want to shift, but accelerating slow enough to where the skip shift would show up every single time. I was just thinking about how the SET/CLR button gets rid of anything on the center screen between the gauges, so i decided that next time it showed up i would press it. I did, and it eliminates the skip shift. I waited about a week to post this just so i could do some more testing to guarantee this is actually the case, and it is! This really works, just as the skip shift icon appears just press the SET/CLR button on the end of the signal stalk, and it allows you to shift freely!

Did you press and hold the SET button or did you simply press it quickly?

hmm. nice find but I still think the $15 eliminator is worth it so you dont have to even worry about it vs. seeing it pop up then clear it before you shift.

$15 eliminator is a better option IMO. Actually, a tune is the best option IMO.
I still have the eliminator on my car even though I've had it tuned for almost 3yrs now. I need to remember to take it off one of these days. Then someone can just have it.

We need to see if this works for Hill Assist. I'll try it in my driveway this evening.

Guess it is just how I drive but I almost never hit the skip shift. Even when I do it is not nearly as intrusive as the one on the Gen4.

Every time it pops up I just ignore it and give it a little more throttle and it goes away. But I have been caught by it when I didn't notice it popped up, and then when I went to shift it was like "what the heck" then I see it and have to go into forth, then third and into second. But most of the time I'm shifting at 4,000 plus rpm's. Don't really do any traffic driving, just mostly open roads and hi-way.

That's a pretty cool find...
Now if I could figure out how to get skip shift to show up I'll give it a try. |
