I've been pulled over once in each of my prior Camaros but not this one yet. I get followed from time to time but not as much as my other Camaros surprisingly. Maybe I've just gotten better at spotting cops. lol

from my experience if you are polite, the violation is moderate and your car doesn't reek of substance or alcohol; cops are actually very easy going

i've had cops turn around or get behind me and not pull me over
kinda like a subtle "i'm watching you, don't do anything dumb"
believe it or not, cops are actually pretty cool

I may have been lucky but tonight I passed a state trooper doing 67 in a 55 on a 2 way highway. He was in a string of cars.I didn't see him until I was about the pass him...I guess that he was on his way home because he never turned around.

They were running your plate.

When I first got my Camaro I wasn't two blocks from the dealer, stopped for a train. Scoped the rear view and a squad was stopped about a length back and looking down at his screen. I think every cop in the village ran my plates during the first two weeks I owned the car.
Then about three months later I followed a cop around a right turn onto a 4-lane divided, 40MPH. He went ~25. I pulled around him and got in front of him and slowed so he could have his shot. "Must have a new guy in town." I thought. Couple minutes later he shot around me.

They are running your plate. Nothing subtle about it. They are seeing if there's an excuse to put on the bubblegums and pull you over.

like what exactly, I know they can trace the name of the registration and get on dispatch and run your criminal record but on what grounds would a traffic stop take place?

Only thing I vould think of is if there happens to be a warrant out for the person that the vehicle is registered to.

The last time I was pulled over was in '94 or '95. For a "random safety inspection" on the F450 & bobcat trailer. Because the idiots in the yard made the load look crappy, but it was secure. An hour and a half and two pages of BS, like the fuel can is crooked.
