V6 Camaro vs Truck?

He definitely has had some work done on it. I asked the brother of the guy who owns the truck if he DYNO'D the truck and he responded with:

i think he said right now its sittin bout 410 torque and hp he said he would have to dig the sheets up but doesnt feel like it lol but its around there on both he said.

And I asked and said the "Weight seems WAY too high" and he says that is the weight of the truck he weigh'd it at the dump the other day.


To add more fuel to the fire the guy I am racing against said this "All Camaros suck, they are slower then sin, I can beat a supercharged v8 camaro so your v6 will be hitting 50 km and I'll be at 150"

Its really getting on my nerves so I challenged him to a race and this is where we are at.

If I beat him, you have no idea the humility this guy is going to face.

if he is still runnging the TBI you'll smoke him. they make great low end torque but just wont rev oot.

Like everyone said, there is no way it is 8000 pounds unless he has a couple pregnent rhinos or elephants riding shotgun. In any case it all seems fishy to me which either means he is full of it, or hiding a lot. All sounds very "high school" to me.

If its a 2500/3500 quadcab 4x4 duramax, it could be 8000 lbs easy.

You should be okay, but is he juiced too and not saying anything? IIRC, my Cummins 4x4 is ~6600#s, or that could be the weight of my tractor.

Never underestimate a truck just because its a truck, my old 2000
Silverado regular cab short box would rape most camaro ss, now saying the truck weighs in at 8000 lbs is total bs, my 2000 silverado was around 4900 and it was a 4x4 gas, my current 2500 rcsb diesel 4x4 weights in at about 6200lbs

it is a 93, no way it is anywhere near that, even then a HD model with all the options MIGHT top 5500. Trucks used to be a LOT lighter than they are now. From the sounds of it it is a 1500 which could be between 3800 and 4200. Also NO TRUCKS CAME WITH A STOCK ENINGE of #%% CI DISPLACEMENT EVER! A 355 means it is a 350 bored .30 over. IF the motor is actually bored it certainly has more done to it. We simply don't have enough info.

if it's still running TBI, it will be around 260-ish hp tops.
