I have my own GM vs Kia experience, both were new. The truck I told my father to buy, the Kia I told my wife not to buy, but she did anyways...

2009 Silverado 1500 4x4 LS with Tow Package:
Trans rebuilt at 19K miles under warranty
AC quit at 67K miles
Trans rebuilt at 92K miles
Intake manifold gasket at 92.5K miles
Parasitic battery drain from mirrors at 94K miles
Multiple CEL lights and minor fuel system repairs along the way
Still under 100k miles

2005 Kia Sportage V6 AWD
Nothing outside of scheduled maintenance until 135k miles when the front side exhaust manifold cat finally clogged itself and needed replacement
Sold at 145K when upgraded to Sorento

I'll never shit on a Kia again.

But Chevy always does a refresh within a generation when it comes to the camaro. Why do you believe they will abandon that practice for the 6th gen Kise?

Curious as to how each vehicle has been used/driven. Is the truck used for towing or as a work truck? Is the Kia a commuter car? Could explain a lot.

My dad was always a Chevy truck guy and every one had transmission issues.

If you read the articles and data that's out there, Kia and Hyundai (same company) are in the top of the most reliable cars on the market. They have matched and in some cases topped Honda for reliability. True fact. All this talk about them being the Wal-Mart and Kmart specials is bogus, old, fake news. I've had some rentals, and even the cheap ones are decent cars and way better than some Toyota rentals I've had.

Based on what? The camo vehicles are clearly refreshed 6th gens. Just the fronts and rears are camoflauged because it's just a simple update to styling.

Had a ‘09 Genesis 4.6 and loved it. So I bought a ‘12 4.6 Genesis used, for my DD.

Just one thing about these cars is that all the parts come from Korea and cost BMW money to fix. So don’t own one out of warranty and you’re golden.

Truck had been used 3 times in it's lifetime to tow another vehicle on a tow dolly. Never used for work, heavy loads or plowing. It has under 100K miles still, in almost 10 years of use. My old man will never buy another one.

The Kia was our family vehicle, 145K miles over a decade.

I wish I heard that a decade ago. I was under the impression Chevy trucks were known for their strong transmissions.

A 500 hp dual injection LT1 for the SS
A 600 hp DOHC naturally aspirated V8 for a the Z/28
The 750 hp LT5 for the ZL1

A big back seat so the car can comfortably seat four adults wearing helmets.
A large trunk to fit two sets of golf clubs
Lighter, more nimble with lower curb weight to allow for a 3500 lb Z/28

Look nothing like the 1st or 5th gen yet retain the Camaro identity.
360 degrees of unobstructed visibility.
Extra large rear view mirrors

Most of all, it needs to appeal to people that have never owned any “pony car” before. ...and lower the price 10%
[sarcasm]
I agree, a smaller, less powerful and cheeper n/a V8 would be great!

its truly painful I agree. I was like a kid at Christmas waiting for the refresh but now that its out the window and the gen 7 isn't coming out for a lonnnnggg time I just traded my SS for a zl1 1le and now have a dreadful car payment haha
