Paddle Shifters

Good afternoon boys and girls,
Been lurking for a while, recently purchased a 2016 SS. It's nice to see an active forum for this car. I originally was looking at a Mustang GT, I have always been partial to Ford's. Been driving a Raptor for the last few years. Test drove the GT and although it had many great qualities the SS was more of a "holy $*** this thing can move!"

So far 2 weeks in I really love the car. If I have one complaint it's a minor one and wondered if any of you felt the same. Here it is. The paddle shifters, they feel cheap to me, of all the materials in the car, these feel the worst. I'm also not crazy about the plastic popping sound you hear when you pull the paddle. I doubt they are replaceable, but I wish they were metal and felt more robust.

I did search and didn't see anyone else bring this up or maybe my search skills need improvement. Maybe I'm alone in this. Thanks to everyone that makes this forum what it is, and if there is a Utah chapter that gets together please let me know.

I think they are fine, had mine since January. I don't use them much. I prefer to us the floor shifter in the manual mode. Feels more like a stick then. Paddles shift a little quicker then the floor shifter but neither as fast as letting it shift in the auto mode. Glad you like it except for that reason.

OP, I've thought the same thing. I wish the sound and feel of the paddles was more solid than it is. I've wondered if there were metal versions you could install.

I do like using the manual mode on the stick more but sometimes when backroads flogging I want two hands on the wheel.

Even if they made a rubberized sleeve that fit over the paddles I think it would feel better. Like I said not a huge thing but if there is an aftermarket piece that became available I would jump on it.

They're much better than the paddle shifters that were in my 2012 Grand Sport Corvette.

I've had the car since February and I haven't been inclined to use the paddle shifters once.

Then, I don't track my car and I can't think of a different situation where paddle shifting would be more than a novelty.
