I wouldn’t mod anything on a CE ZL1 because it might detract from the collectabilty of the car in the near future.

Might as well not drive it then, because miles also detract from its potential resale value...

There is nothing special about the 2024 collector's edition compared to previous model years, so I don't think it will be particularly memorable. Yes, it's a limited and numbered edition, which may matter to some, but it's hard to foresee how much.

Look at the 5th gen Z/28, now that was a very special farewell car. Doesn't matter that it wasn't dailyable at all, it was built for one thing and did it very well. Inflation is messing greatly with prices, but its value seems to be climbing after less than 10 years, just checked a few low mileage ones and they sell above original MSRP.

Yes, but they also allocated out another dozen or more Gearhead said so that number will grow as they come off the line.

Not to discount anyone’s purchase, but I did a little calculation for the CE and Garage 56 edition cars on the ZL1 CE excel sheet. If you click on the Calculated Cost Breakdown tabs I put a theoretical cost associated with the specific features of the package that aren’t or weren’t offered in the past. Aka the items you can’t spec onto just any car

Excel sheet

Interesting, wonder what the final number for 2024 will be

Nitro yellow will likely be rarer from a number perspective, but I think CE ZL1s are going to be super sought after since they're the last "special" edition. Not going to consider the G56 edition cars as we don't have evidence yet that any of those have been produced for the public yet.

Nothing special about the Panther edition. If it even appreciates at all, the owner will be dead before there's any decent money to be made.

With 256 of those being collectors editions right now, the collectors edition is going to be the largest percentage of the group. Currently the numbers by colour are:

Panther Black: 256 (collectors)
Black: 187 (includes 1 - 1LE)
Nitro Yellow: 8
Radiant Red: 65
Red Hot: 42 (includes 1 - 1LE)
Riptide Blue: 35 (includes 1 Garage56 Edition)
Riverside Blue: 39
Sharkskin Grey: 111
Summit White: 87
Vivid Orange: 46

With the help of radiator, I plan to at the end of the build period get together a list of the different packages. Colour/body style/Transmission. Most of these colours are all more rare than the collectors edition it self, so its really just a badging and cosmetic "status" vs a limited build when comparing to these other schemes. I understand its a "collectors edition" and will always hold that name, but when the collectors edition is the most produced "colour/badging combo" of the trim level for that year, how "collectible" really is it vs the other combos? They are all as collectible in my opinion. Whats everyone's thoughts? Again not taking anything away from it, but 30 years from now what do you think will happen value wise?

**As discussed in this thread, the rarest packages for this model year will be the few 1LE's that get built, and the Garage56 edition. Will monitor those as well. Bumbleboy has already started on that as well in the sticky thread for collectors edition numbers**

Currently for my car, there are 65, 14 of those are a coupe with the manual. Of those 14 only 6 have PDR, and of those 6, only 2 have BCD, mine being one of them. 1/2 currently, and will be cool to have this information 30 years from now. Kind of what you hear now a days that there was only 65 of a certain colour 69 Camaro built way back when.
I do agree, as others have stated, about the rarity of the '24 ZL1 production across all models. Some more rare than others. In reference to the CE, what stands out to me is not only the color but the panther badging and a serialized number with a Shinola serialized watch that commemorates the original production. GM trademarked the word "Panther" in August of this year for the 2024 CE which only applies to '24 CE. Every investment purchase, or heck, even every vehicle purchase has a risk but I really love the looks and future value potential of all '24 ZL1s way to much to worry about it. Any '24 ZL1 will all be a superb purchase/investment if approached and maintained properly!

GM Marketing actually contacted me via email 8-9 days ago and stated I would receive within 60 days.

I believe it was Forbes Magazine that ran a piece on the top 45 cars to grab now and hold onto for 20 years. It's been a while since I've read the piece, but I believe it reflected the ZL1 at spot#13 and ZL1 1LE at spot#9. All ZL1/ZLE models that are maintained will not only hold value but increase in value as well. Look at what the '22 and '23 with low miles are going for now. Just the idea of enjoying one for a short time and getting what you put into it back is worth it to me! I really have enjoyed my Panther I purchased at an inflated MSRP but aren't they all...

The anniversary 2002's arent worth much unless they are in brand new condition. The GMMG ZL1's are worth quite a bit. I suspect the CE ZL1 will fall somewhere in between.
Had Chevy made them 1LE's with Carbon Ceramic Brakes and a 50hp bump in power, I think that would have made a much bigger impact than matte black and a watch.
