New ZL1 1LE owner
Hi everyone I'm 1 week away from picking up my new hyper blue zl1 1le. I will be tracking the car as much as I can , would you guys recommend a full car clear bra or just the front?

I would say full front (from the windshield forward) and full sides at a minimum

I agree full front and sides.
Which leaves the top and rear. So just do it all and then dont worry about swirls when you wash it. Go for a thicker film like Xpel. Add a semi durable hydrophobic coating on top of the film (Gtechniq EXO, et al) and it will be much easier to keep clean. |

Congrats and good luck. I had just the front end, lower side skirts and quarters done. I don't know it was worth the hype. Always wiped the bugs off every other car after use.

At least the following:
Expel would have ran me $5300 for the full monty, I opted for the $3200 version (Expel). -Full front, A pillars and 12'' of the front roof line. -Also, 8'' up the sides and the sills inside the doors. -All around the rear wheel wells. - Ceramic coated all other exposed areas. -Tinted side, rear windows and a strip across the top edge of the front windshield. Additional $250 for the tint. |

At least. Mine drives no more than 20 miles a month and has picked up some nasty nasty damage. To say it scratches, swirls, and chips easily is an understatement. If I could do it all over again I would have xpeled the front fascia and front splitter (they make a matte), side panels, hood, carbon fibre extractor, mirrors, side rocker panels, wing, rear bumper, and rear diffuser. These places have all picked up nasty road rash and/or chips. If I had the money I would Xpel the whole thing and be almost worry free.

As much as it does seems like money well spent on this protective film, at 3-4k wouldn't it be cheaper to re spray the front clip down the line?. One things for sure, you won't get a dime( well maybe a couple)out of the investment at re sale. You would think GM would offer Imron or some other form of paint protection as an RPO on track intended models. If they can get 1300 for a mediocre recorder, they could easily do this for much less than aftermarket.

But, like has been stated, a re-paint can be had if one suffers such noticeable damage. If I had done more research on the after care/do's and don'ts, I would have kept my money.

My guy is charging full car bra with full detail inside and outside with paint correction for $5000 I'm wondering if it's worth it. I will drive the car hard and want to keep it for a while.
