New 2012 Camaro SS feels slow??

Ok so I just bought a brand new 2012 Camaro SS 2 weeks ago. As of right now it has 500 miles on it. I did a 0-60 run and i timed it at 5.5 seconds. Car is all stock. Is anyone really getting under 5 seconds without mods? Or is there something wrong with my car! I had traction control off. I live in Florida so it is hot down here. Not sure if that would make a difference cause of the heat. I have an Automatic and I had the car in Sport Mode.

Sometimes the car feels like it got some really good acceleration but then at times it feels sluggish.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Well first it will loosen up and get faster when you get about 2,500 miles on it.
Second, this car is not as fast as it should be. The computer control is REALLY holding it back. I spoke to a tuner who told me about all of the nannys in the stock tune. The car will not give you full throttle most of the time when you are asking for it. You cannot line lock it either. Going from 6th to 2nd from about 45-50 results in a 2-3 second hesitation. The only way to really fix it is with a tune, unfortunately it could possibly void your warranty if they do a code checksum test.

Also try the 93 octane fuse pull. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38964

I've noticed with mine that the heat really seems to hurt its accelleration. I'd say try the fuse pull though (I never noticed a difference when I have tried it). In 90+ temps it feels a bit sluggish. It really seems to like 60 degrees though.

I will qualify my response by adding my stats are based completely on a finely tuned butt dyno.

Thanks guys. Yea i did a fuse pull the other day. Didnt notice any difference. I always use octane 93 as well. Do you need to upgrade the exhaust or anything to get a tune? Or can you just get the car tuned and see improvement without other mods>?

Heat kills these things bad. Mine seems to run like a dog all summer then when cooler temps hit it wakes up a lot. Try fuse pull first.

You can get a tune without mods, but you might as well do them together. Find out who in your area knows what they are doing and get a dyno tune. He will tune it up, get rid of the AFM, and do a tranny tune. Both the engine and the tranny will benefit greatly from it, but I would say wait until you have at least 5,000 miles on it to break it and do a shake down!

Lets see the car!

Run the tank till on E them fill up with 93 do the fuse pull and see if it's better. It will get faster as it breaks in more. Usually these motors tend to perk up a little more around 1600 miles or so.
