LoJack advantages over OnStar:
Onstar uses satellite, LoJack uses radio frequency. Radio works even if the car is put in a container or other metal building, Onstar doesn't always.
Onstar makes you notify them if car is stolen before they'll track it. LoJack notifies you.
Just depends on if you're worried about your car being stolen.

I have LoJack, I get a discount on my insurance because of it. Living in Fresno, it gives me peace of mind, especially since I have OnStar active too. Might be overkill, but I like knowing my baby is safe.

i know onstar gps tracking can be disabled with a 50$ gps jammer.. The issue with lojack is whether any police in your area have the equipment to track it.

Thanks Brooks35!

Thanks all. You're right, that's what insurance is for. Not sure if I even want it back after it was stolen. No telling what they would have put it through. I'm keeping my money in my pocket. Have a good day.

Keep your money, my dad had it in one of his cars. It got jacked and they didn't find it.

Just get a low insurance deductible.

LoJack is a thing of the past..!!! My agency no longer has it either. I believe we have one unit left in an older patrol vehicle. All the newest cars in our fleet are not being eqipped with LoJack.... I work in the bay area and I know that our county cars along with fellow city agencies are no longer using it....

I have Lojac with the enhanced feature that calls and emails me if the car moves. In Taxachusetts, you get a healthy insurance discount every year for having this system. Yeah, I know that the Onstar qualifies too. I did not renew Big Brother Onstar though. The Lojac is a pay once deal, unlike onstar with an annual fee. by Big Brother, I am talking about how every time I took the car to New England Dragway, I recieved an email the next day informing me that my rear tires were 12 pounds low the night before. If they pull your warranty for a tune, what do you think they do for dragracing?, give you a free extended warranty?
