Outside temp gage stoped working

I have a 2SS with Nav and the outside temp is shown in the upper left portion of the screen. This week when it got cold in So Fla I noticed it read 62 degrees when I knew it was 40 something out. It stayed at 62 for several days so I disconnected the negative battery cable for about 30 minutes and the temp displayed -- on the screen. I drove for several miles and it did not register the temp. When I shut the car off I then restarted it and the temp started working and has been working for a week now. Just a heads up if yours ever gets stuck.
