RS Door Ambient Light Flickering

My 2012 Camaro RS blue stripe ambient door light on the passenger side started flickering. I took it into the dealer to see if there is a bulb that needed to be replaced. They told me the light strip is built into the door panel, and cannot be replaced. The entire door panel needs to be replaced at a cost of around $500, and it is not covered by warranty. This is incredibly stupid if it is true. Is there a way to replace it?

I had both mine fail within a few weeks of one another. I noticed my passenger side would flicker. So, just in case I ordered two. Shortly after swapping the passenger side LED, the drivers side started doing the same. No broken wires or anything like that.

And linc400, your dealer is an uneducated idiot. Like Rcheli4fun posted, its just a $20 part. I actually paid $14.

From this forum picture it looks like the LED housing just snaps on to the end of the light-tube. There is a VERY detailed write-up in the forum showing how to find and remove all the hidden fasteners and window seal in order to pop the door panel off without damage. Used that to take my door panel off and helped a great deal - took 10 minutes.
