Searching that code (just a Google search) yields "Evaporative Emission Control System Pressure Sensor Intermittent"

If it continues to refuse to remote start, then it's likely because of the CEL / code being present. It's possible that it has been detecting an error all along but it wasn't happening frequently enough to throw the CEL / code.

So, no more CEL and remote start works again, for no apparent reason, typical GM in my experience with them lol

I think I might know why it happened, last night I had bad phone connection and was impatient w the app, I sent like 6 remote start requests from quitting the app and trying again, I bet they all finally went thru or something and tripped the car out lmao.. that’s my theory

I’ll revive the thread if it does it again

Denial of service attack via remote start requests, nice job, Mr. Hacker

You can only do two remote starts per ignition cycle that’s why I think it freaked when all those lagging requests came at once but idk

Hmmm.. I doubt that would trigger a CEL.

The way the system works is it will remote start and idle for up to ten minutes, then shut off. You can re-start it ONCE for an additional ten minutes. After that, you have to start the car "the right way" to reset the remote start functionality. If subsequent start requests come in while the car is running, I believe they are simply ignored.

Yeah,
Whenever my app or key fob fails to remote start, I get in to a CEL for 3sec or so before I hit the push to start button, we’ll see if it happens again

If you're getting trouble codes that result in a CEL, it's worth at least talking with a dealer service writer about it. It's possible that the trouble code is causing the failure and then it clears when you start the car. An intermittent issue is typically hard to solve because it can't always be diagnosed. Maybe this is something they've seen, though?

OP, I’d take it to the dealer. I seem to remember a similar issue on my C7 Corvette and they fixed it up.

On a side note, my DD / Winter driver is a Volvo XC90R. More electronics in it than the space shuttle. The only way to remote start it is through the app and IT fails probably 20% of the time, yet my wife’s 2018 JL Wrangler Rubicon remote start works every time...

My 2015 truck was like that. It never liked to auto start off the fob very well. Always did off the app. My camaro and 2018 truck work fine off the fob. My app expired so I have not used it on those vehicles

Also if you have a cel the remote start will not work until you fix the cel issue

My previous vehicle was a 2017 Explorer, the remote start was bullet proof on it. The only time I had an issue was if I tried to start it from too far away. My remote start on my 2021 2SS has been garbage from the start. The lights come on the way their supposed to but I get the yellow engine icon and then have to unlock it, open the trunk etc. to get it to work. The whole you can only start it 2 to 3 times before having to manually start it is total BS GM! I think I remote started my explorer pretty much every time, with no issues. I'm taking the Camaro in for an oil change this week. Hopefully they can do something about it.

I had the same problem with my SSs. I locked them when I got to work but when I got off work they would not start until I unlocked then locked them again then they would start remotely.

I took them to the dealer and they said they could not duplicate the problem. Yet I could duplicate the problem every night.

My Camaro doesn't have remote start because it's M6.. But, on my Silverado and ALL GM vehicles that I've used remote start on...

The process is lock the doors by pressing the FOB remote then HOLDING the remote start button for something like 4-5 seconds to get it to start.

Once you enter the car, you have to depress the brake pedal, then press the engine start/stop button to put it into full running mode.

Reviving since I can't find any clear guidance on a pervasive problem:

I let my GF drive my car ONE TIME while I got her SUV serviced, and remote start quit working. 2023 2SS A10, I have tried lock, hold start the orange lights blink after 4 seconds when the car SHOULD start but nothing happens. I have tried unlock, lock, and hold start, same result. Hood is closed. Fluids are full. No SES light. Tried both fobs, same result, mileage is only 2650 or so. Is there ANYTHING left to try before I take this in to the dealer and risk looking like an idiot for something simple? Is there something she could have done while messing with controls that somehow disabled remote start? This is really frustrating.
