If it had 175 hp it wasn't a Z28. I owned a '72, and the 350 in those made 255 hp and 280 tq from the factory...even the '73 was still 245 hp...then the Z28 went bye bye for a couple years.

Apparently Buick reps at New York are saying Avista is not a dead concept and there still is a possibility for production.

I meant to type 275HP but looks like that was for 71. It dropped to 255 HP in 72. Thanks

If they can continue to bring over younger demographic. This might be a way to do that despite the Buick stigma.

Just saw an article on Jalopnik about this and I would hope they keep selling it but they need to drop the price. Maybe it should become an Impala? They could toss in a turbo 4 or a V6 for the base and then build from there to the Impala SS with the LT1 or LS3 since according to the article quotes it'll have an LS3 and a manual transmission.

Someone who works with Chevy in NASCAR said over the winter that the SS is their car for the foreseeable future so who knows. Teams were testing camo'd SS' before May '12 for the '13 season so if anything is going to change for next year I imagine we'd know within a few months.

I don't know if the rule still appiles today but back in the day they could run cars for 3 years after that model is no longer made.
