Feel free to apologize.
For the Camaro (car we're talking about) The width is the same with or without the mirrors included.....look at the picture Aceofspades6 posted. Other cars without the fender flares like the Camaro might be measured at the widest point (probably with the mirrors folded).

What possible use would knowing how wide a car is without its attached mirrors be? Building a garage you can't park in? A trailer you can't fit in? I'm pretty sure a width "without mirrors" refers to them folded, not removed from the car....no possible use for that dimension.

It takes a big man to admit when he's wrong.....I am not a big man....it's a good thing I'm not wrong.

Ha! I think this was one of those food fights that SirNuke is always talking about. Most times the measurements do not include the mirrors. Sounds like you've got a good problem to have though... Where and how to park your Gen6!

The widest part on the Camaro is the mirrors, and you're embarrassing yourself.

The true width of the car has yet to be mentioned.....It's the dimension of both doors open as widely as possible....This voids any mirror dimensions....

Why worry over the mirror size (or not) for parking when you gotta open at least one door to get out!....I mean, let's be practical here...lol...

I guess Clearly I'm blind.....looking at head on size comparison looking at the mirrors compared to the fenders (black lines...blue is the 2010) the mirrors appear noticeably inboard of the fenders.

May I ask how you are arriving at the conclusion the mirrors are the widest part?

I'm getting a vert....

J/k, but good point. Although for me, having it parked where it may go, i'd be having to walk past it to get into the house - i may have to relocate some shelving. I admit, that we are talking about 12 inches of mirrors i'd guess. Didn't know i was opening a can of worms on this one.

I arrived at this conclusion two ways: the first is that it's obvious. The second was with a tape measure. The answer is approximately 81 inches.

....All good... I was just kidding...lol....anyway, fwiw, I'd say the mirrors are the widest part, even more so on the 6th Gen...the body of the vehicle can't block the mirrors from your view or the view of the vehicle behind you....

Simple, use a tape measure on your own car.
On my 2013 ZL1, the hips are approx. 76" wide, while the mirrors are approx. 82" wide.

Not even close, it's wider at the mirrors.

Don't know how you could think the mirrors aren't the widest part....

Even here, the perspective is angled inward....Picture where the mirrors would be if the outside of the wheels were aligned in the photo...

The angled shot is meaningless....you could park the car at a 45 degree angle and not see the mirror protrude at all.....look at the right side....fender clearly wider (can't even see the mirror :-)

So you don't think that the picture of the blue Camaro from the back you just posted shows the rear fenders are as wide as the mirrors?

I'll answer your question with a question. When you look down train tracks, do you think they are really getting narrower the further they are from you? That's the illusion from the rear shot of the blue camaro above.

This attached top view answers the question.

The mirrors are clearly wider than the fenders.
