My 24 ZL1 is TPW 9-11-23. If they strike after the week mine may be one of the last ones built. Crazy times!

Still waiting on an allocation. So I guarantee that if they do strike, I’ll be out of luck for a while.

But it will also sit in the lot forever and not get moved to the dealer. I'd rather have it built after the strike then get stuck with it sitting there waiting to be stolen

The chances of my V6 Manual / Recaro / NPP / Nitro yellow being built seem tinier than ever. I'm getting the feeling it's time to move on and either keep my nine-year-old Mustang, go for the BRZ or Miata, cave in on one of my big four requirements (RWD, 2D, 6MT, NA), or play the craps table in the secondary market...

Thankfully, I'm in a spot where I have plenty of time. As long as it actually gets built, I'll be happen, regardless if it takes 6+ months or not.

Well the part they are not telling you which I am certain will lead to a strike is GM paying the battery division employees less than $20 an hour. Huge sticking point employees laid off from high paying assembly and foundry jobs do not want to transfer to these jobs. This might be a long and drawn out strike. Shawn Fain UAW president has already said this is major sticking point and being a relatively new president I don't see the UAW caving to these ridiculously low wages. I also heard they are asking for a 4 day work week, eliminating mandatory OT, and a 20% wage increase.

In 6 months there won't be any more Camaro production. That is the problem. A two month strike will kill 1/3 or even 1/2 of the '24 model year. There is literally less than six months left according to the timeline GM gave us.

I hope some of UAW's demands are just a negotiation tactic. 50% pay increase plus 32 hour work week paid as 40 hours? Some of their other demands look reasonable, but you're going to have a very protracted strike if those first two demands are serious.

All three are going to go on strike. Any car built in early September will sit until the strike is over. No way the teamsters will cross the UAW and move vehicles

More lot rot.
In early December 1970, I ordered my Super Sport Nova and GM went on strike shortly thereafter.
UAW had a lengthy strike and my Ypsilanti, Michigan built vehicle wasn't delivered until late January 1971. That vehicle was my last SS until now. My 2024 Camaro 2SS Vert has been built and is now likely sitting in the Lansing lot.
Here we go again some 52 years later.
Like Yogi Berra said, it's Deja Vu all over again.

As someone who's still waiting for allocation, this is concerning. Especially with a shortened production schedule to begin with. I'm next in line at a small dealer, and 7th in line at a big one. I'd feel better if my order was accepted before this stuff starts. I just cant see how any business can just eat a 75% increase in labor cost (just on those two positions i mentioned).

I can't say much more about that without venturing into commentary that's not appropriate for this forum.

Yep. If a strike happens basically no one will get a car.

Do you thin kGM will extend production like they did with the Impala?

I mean technically, if they are on strike there is nobody to be pre-working in the plant on model change over and all the material sorting out. So that would be delayed the length of the strike too. There is a lot of material sitting in that plant too. Hold full allocation that I doubt very highly they are willing to scrap. I don’t know for sure, but feels like it should be a pause. Hard to believe they screw over the customer due to the union

I take you work at the plant?
Apologies if I'm wrong.
Question : What are they doing to hustle the built cars out of the plant?
