Couple of Questions Regarding a New Camaro Build

If you order the Recaro seats on a base 1LT 2.0T, do you get the heated and cooling function? Do you get the rear leather seats? Do you get any other material upgrades like in the door cards?

In regards to wheel selection, on the same base 2.0T car, will the stock 18" wheel be lighter and provide me with better fuel economy than any of the 20" upgrade wheels such as the 20" 5-spoke, Carbon Flash-painted aluminum wheels?

I notice the LS model comes with different split-spoke 18" wheels than the LT model. Any one know which of these wheels is technically better and lighter? Thanks!

If you buy just the Recaro seats alone, I believe all you get is the Recaro seats. You will not get heating/ventilated functions with a 1LT, it would be given if it was a 2LT (or 3LT) that already had a heated/ventilated function.

I don't believe you get the rear leather seats but not 100% sure about that.

The most significant difference in the wheels will be the style and ride quality from 18" to 20" (same with run-flat vs non-run-flat).

If you want lighter wheels, the option would be the forged wheels that come with the 1LE package but unfortunately, they removed the 1LE package from LT trims a few years back. I believe the difference between the LS and LT 18" wheels is just design, the LT gets split-spoke 18" while the LS is not split-spoke. Though from some other threads, the difference between the forged and aluminum wheels is maximum of 10 lbs. Forged around 25-26 lbs and aluminum hovering in the low 30 lbs.

If you';re looking for fuel economy improvements between 18"-20" wheels on a Camaro, look elsewhere for a car, perhaps.
Also, per another thread, there will be no 2.0 on the 2024 model year.

Can't speak to an 1LT but on a LT1, if you order Recaros you get no heating/cooling however you do get full leather rear seats. The "knee pads" on the door and the console are still plastic.

Yeah 100% correct. To be honest the plastic knee pads haven’t bothered me as much as I thought they would. I still want to change them out for something nicer, but it went down on the list a bit.

I went back and forth about replacing the plastic pads. I ended up purchasing a 2SS leather set from the classifieds board. Got them installed and it was the finishing touch to the LT1 Recaro leather interior.

That’s sounds like a pretty good deal. I was pondering on getting a set of alcantra knee pads to match the seats. But now I’ve got the Itch for a V8 so we will see what happens.

You're probably already aware, GEN5DIY makes a cooling control kit you can use to add that function to seats that don't come with console controls for it. I think the hardware in the seats is already there. Not sure about adding heat, probably takes a lot more current than controlling some fans.

There’s no current solution to adding OEM heat, the hardware I’d imagine is there similar to the cooling function. But Gen5 doesn’t have anything for it as of yet, their cooling harness is nice though.

The split spoke wheels on the LS are only 7.5" wide and the 18" wheels on the LT are 8.5" wide. I would think the narrower wheels are lighter but not sure how much?
