Well they all have there focus, and a much more limited option set. Makes building the cars much easier and cheaper.

I couldn't believe the options when I priced a 2015 1SS (IIRC) w/ Recaros and the 1LE package. You can get like ZLI this, and 1LE end links, Z28 hood and all shorts of shit, you would have though it was a 60's Mopar list.

This being said there generally wasn't than many nameplates available at once. However shit has gotten real, and HIPO cars sell.

In 2017 the Mustang GT, Ford GT, GT350, GT350R, and GT500 may all be available. The last time this happened was 1967, go figure. It will be the 50th for the GT500.

Cobra is what Ford went with when the parted ways from Shelby, and Terminator is a power plat program name IIRC for the Cobra; much like Coyote, RoadRunner, Trinity, and Voodoo.

Z28, ZL1, SS and 1LE that's it. I am talking about current models not old models

1LE isn't a model name. And Ford just has GT, GT350, and GT500.

If the GT500 looks like that Ford may have won me over. I'm hoping the new Z wows me like that.

Ford did build a TT V8 for the Cobra Jet drag car. Maybe a street version for the GT500.

The TT Cobra Jet was just a one off concept.

I believe it was the mustang GT, boss 302 ( Laguna seca edition is just a variant of this), and GT500. So there's just 3, 4 if you count the Boss 302 LS as a separate model.
This gen there's GT, GT350 ( GT350R is an added package), and then GT500 (when it comes out).

Produced by Ford:
Mustang
Mustang GT
Boss 302
(Laguna Seca)
GT500
GT350.
(350R)

Produced by GM:
Camaro
Camaro SS
( 1LE)
Camaro ZL1
Camaro Z/28

The Boss was offered as a whole different sub model where the 1LE is just an option package, but the two fill roughly the same role.

Both cars have had special editions so I didn't count them. So in the end the Mustang has a whopping 1 more separate model. Frankly it comes off as nitpicking to bring that up as a mark against Ford.

O forgot a couple GT/CS Cali special and Bullit up to 3 for now . My point is Mustang does have a lot of special editions and types of mustangs out there. Camaro doesn't have near as many. Just saw one on motor trend that they are going auction off an Apollo Edition. Seems like they have special edition all the time. Not trying to start anything just stating what I have seen

Both the CS and the Bullitt are packages on a standard Mustang GT. CS is strictly appearance, while the both times the Bullitt package was offered , '01 and '08, they were appearance with a few additional performance goodies.

Don't forget anniversary Camaros, Hot Wheels edition, etc...There's a few out there for Camaro too. But I have definitely seen more one offs in the Mustang lately. That Apollo edition is an example, but don't think anyone can actually order it.
