Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm an aircraft mechanic at TUS airport and I'm a new 2015 2SS/RS/1LE owner!
It's brand new and bone stock for now, but I fully intend to do UD pulley, intake, throttle body, headers w/ hi-flow cats, and possibly exhaust(and obviously SCT tuner with a dyno or canned tune). This thing has twice the RWHP of the '94 Mustang GT I had fresh out of A&P school some 15 years ago, which is nice, but another 35-45 more hp and 60-70 more tq on top of that with bolt-ons can't hurt I might have to try to make it to one of these monthly meetings and check out some of your rides!

Thanks! JD, unfortunately I work weekends for 3 months starting in April so I won't be able to make either of those events :(
While have your guys' attention, do any of you know of a reputable vinyl wrap place around here? I'm looking to have my side mirrors wrapped to match the hood, and am considering a clear bra...

Not sure of a "wrapper" here in Tucson, but there are several in Phoenix. I can check my list when I get home. Definitely get the clear bra while it's new. Best investment I made on the car.

Well, I've done plenty of work with vinyl based stuff, but mostly in small scale. I can buy a clear bra for $170, but I'd have to install it myself and I'd hate to screw it up.
I found a place here by me, www.centerlinewraps.com and asked them about clear bras. They warned me that they are not easily removed and may take paint with them if you did remove them. They also told me it'd be about $600 installed!!!! I am wondering if they are thinking of a different type of bra? They suggested I do a silver vinyl wrap to the whole bumper and said it'd look better than the thick clear bra, but I'm not seeing how that's possible. But that's only $150 installed... Anyway, they will do my mirrors for $30 apiece. Big question is, do I want them matte black like the hood, or carbon fiber? Thoughts? Honestly, bling-bling isn't really my style so I'm leaning toward matte. But CF mirrors along with CF hood vent and grill might look pretty nice.

It's funny how, once you have your new dream car, you start to "see" every other car like yours on the road or even parked in a parking lot!
Just this morning on my way home I saw a white 1LE, a silver SS, and a dark grey[looks like]LS. And then you wonder if they are on this forum...

Hi all! I'm actually going to make it tonight and I got some help I'm going to ask of you.
My car is coding again, P0420, saying that my catalytic converter is pretty much running lean (Catalyst system efficiency below threshold (bank 1 and bank 2)). Watson is saying around $750. I go in Weds for them to look see what it is since the code came up late last year, disappeared, and was a ghost code in Jan. Personally I am extremely frustrated since I have been in an out since April so I am having a hard time thinking it is coincidence. Quick low down of (dealership) repairs since last April. This is the repairs piece--doesn't include the in and out diagnostics for each time my SES light came on: Last April: Cleaned throttle body, decarboned, etc. since it was running rough. Still issues so... Replaced an oil gasket they said was leaking. Still issues so... Worked on timing chains. Still issues so... Replaced engine with a rebuilt since bearings were spun Last Nov-Dec: Reverse switch (not engine related) Catalytic code came up and went away (so though bad gas) MAF and another piece replaced This January: Throttle Body and Engine computer replaced (with all the other problems I fought to get this ones price lowered) and a differential leak due to a seal. Any suggestions, help, etc. is much appreciated. I am pretty much fully out of warranty except for recent parts/labor. Thanks all! |
