A 2SS auto is pushing 3,925lbs...I have a hard time believing a 2SS auto with heated/cooled leather seats, premium stereo and 20's being only 3,725lbs.
Sorry...that is what a cloth interior no nothing auto GT Mustang comes in at. |

The difference in weight between the Cadillac ATS coupe V6 (3530 lbs) and 4cyl (3411 lbs) is 140 lbs. We could see the 4cyl Camaro come in under 3400 lbs.

Yeah rumor is the the T4 will be up to 300 lbs lighter than the 5gen base LS. I am hoping the SS comes in at the low 3700 pound range. We will see but I'm betting more on the upper 3700 pound range.

Could a factory Camaro come close to Miata weight? (Or at least BRZ weight?)

Leather and 20s were standard on the 2ss before. Are heated and cooled seats and a heavier stereo standard compared to last year? And how do we know the stereo will weigh much more than before? We don't. Heated and cooled seats not sure either. Can't add extra cost options to 2ss that aren't standard and compare it to standard 2ss weight for last year. If the heated and cooled seats and bigger stereo is standard 2ss compared to last year it's a fair comparison. Been saying all along I'm sceptical. But at this point they have came out and said it too many times... Gonna be a hell of an uproar if GMs listed curb weights don't reflect this. All I'm saying...I didn't engineer the car and neither did any of us... We are all guessing |

Why??? You do realize the car is completely wired on all models for all those extras?? So all we r talking about is some extra plastic switches. I gotta be honest, all this hysteria over 200lbs is a bit blown out of proportion. Its not that big of a deal.

The new cars are built on a smaller (lighter) platform and with other weight saving measures I could see all models being at least 200 lbs. lighter.

1LE: 3,884 GT 3,810 Not sure what the current manual SS is but if it can get to 3,700 or less I'll be really impressed. |
