Gen5 Convertible availability after coupe

How many months was it?

I'm trying to figure out how long I'll have to wait.

It was a model year later, but coupe production started waaaay early in the 2010 model year in 2009.

No idea who did the render, so I cannot give credit where it is due, but this looks pretty damn good/promising. I may have to do a convertible rendering as well, with a ton of goodies.

The first production 5th gen convertible rolled off the assembly line on January 31 2011, I think the coupe started production in March 2009.

Take into account we have already seen prototype convertibles running with the coupes. I would not expect it to be as long as on the 5th gen.

Considering we've already seen camouflaged prototypes on the roads, I don't see why they wouldn't show it at the L A auto show.

It was just shy of 2 years between the start of coupe production and the start of convertible production on the 5th gen. However the convertible was delayed a bit because a major supplier went out of business not long before it was supposed to go into production and they had to scramble to get someone else tooled up and ready to go. Also, in that time GM itself went bankrupt, which probably prevented them from spending extra money on fast-tracking a new supplier.

Otherwise, the 'vert might have been available for the start of the 2011 model year or possibly late in the 2010 MY -compared to late in the 2011 MY that it worked out as.

5th Gen convertible was delayed due to a supplier issue.
