Yep. I made fun of it and it's still ridiculous.

It's humorous when the Camaro guys were making fun of the Mustang for it... and now the Camaro has the exact same thing. Some of you should've seen this coming.

Pretty sure my 2013 5th Dual mode exhaust is all organically natural ;-)

Kudos to Chevy for giving the driver the option to turn it off, and letting the buyers know what they are getting. I think that is what got Ford into trouble was that they tried to keep it a "secret" even from their own customers.

The Camaro 4 cyl will be the entry level car....I would rather let the owner make it sound however he wants inside the cabin, rather than feeble attempts to change the sound from the outside that we all would have to hear.

Hopefully the four-bangers will be dead quiet on the outside.....Who cares what they sound like on the inside...lol...

Here's GMs info from the recent press release...:

"Each engine has been carefully tuned for a distinctive performance sound. All 2.0L turbo models feature active noise cancellation, which uses sound waves to cancel unwanted cabin noise. Models equipped with the available Bose audio system also feature engine sound enhancement, which amplifies the native sounds of the 2.0L turbo engine – and can be disabled based on the driver’s preference.

Both the 3.6L V-6 and 6.2L V-8 feature mechanical sound enhancers – resonators that direct induction noise from the engine bay into the cabin. Both engines are available with a dual-mode exhaust, which features electronically controlled valves that bypass the mufflers under acceleration, delivering improved performance and greater sound levels. With the dual-mode exhaust, drivers can personalize the exhaust sound, from a “stealth” mode to the most aggressive “track” mode."

Just out!!!! Automotive World Press Release -

In response to GM's 2016 Camaro exhaust enhancement feature - Beginning in 2017, Ford will offer a "burn out enhancement" sound. During an interview, a Ford representative said, "Buyers of Ford's new 2017 Mustang will have the option to hear a life-like tire squeal when they step on the gas. The sound will actually come from the audio system in the car." Chevrolet is threatening legal action, as it appears that Ford used a 2015 Camaro to create the recording.

As long as people have the option to turn it off, I think it's great.
