Eibach Springs

I'm sure this question has been asked before but I can't seem to find it.

There are two part #s from eibach for the 16-18 camaro ss. One lowers 1.1" non mrc and one lowers 0.7" w/ mrc.

My question is, if you used the non mrc springs on an mrc car will it lower it more or is a mrc car a little lower to begin with?

i thought if you lower it too much without playing with the coding for MRC that it will throw codes and not behave correctly.

Could be. A friend of mine had a very harsh ride with his C6 being too low with mrc but he was almost tucked. The difference between these two springs are about a half inch only

If I install the eibach mrc springs on my mrc car, is any recoding required?

Nope.

These two springs are just different for the SS and 1LE since the valving on the MRC changes between the two cars. Spring rates are slightly different to accommodate the change. I found the spring rates listed somewhere and need to dig it up.

The lowering difference is just due to the MRC sitting a little lower with the 1LE vs. the SS. There's less to lower.

Anyone running eibach springs on a mrc equipped ss with kooks longtubes? I'm thinking about taking the plunge but am a little concerned about header clearance. I don't dd my car and always avoid any pavement irregularities if possible. My headers are still pristine and I would like to keep them that way. I would appreciate input from some of you guys with similar setups.

SS is 160#/121-691#

SS 1LE is 166#/121-691#

I think the rear springs between SS and 1LE are the same and the front is the difference. This is my observation from looking at SS and 1LE cars that have used the same SS kit and also what owners are saying their actual drop is. On the 1LE, the front really does not lower much, maybe 0.50” at most. The rear seems to drop 0.70”-ish. The 1LE springs (and tires) already lower the car from the SS, so you will naturally get less quoted drop since the reference point is a non-MRC SS. Also, it seems that MRC cars have an addition 0.20-0.25” higher strut package in front, but basically the same as a non-MRC in the rear (what I’m looking into and seemingly finding out). So, I think a new front spring was needed to accommodate that 0.20-0.25” for the 1LE [and SS MRC].

Great info, thank you!

It's interesting that the rates are that close since the rates change enough between the SS and 1LE to require the MRC to be reflashed. (For production at least - I know it's safe to run without the MRC flash)

Yup, the lowering difference is quite minimal between the two, but definitely impacts the total lowering spring height.

I've a bit of different req:
I gotta V6 'vert and wanna buy eibach springs
is my drop .6" and .9" like the way eibach has listed on the site or does it drop 1.1" all around like non MRC
Can you please check with your bud at eibach on the drop for a V6?

Just ordered the Pro-Kit for my 2.0

Got some lower profile tires and want to alleviate some of the expected wheel gap.
