V6 1lE vs HHR SS

So I am trying to decide if I should pull the trigger on a V6 1LE. I have an '08 HHR SS that is tuned and has quite a few performance mods but I have 124k miles on it. It has been one of the best vehicles I have ever owned as far as performance and usability. It's very practical for me since I have 2 boys that play baseball and I am always hauling them and their gear to the fields. So I found a local V6 1LE that has $10k off sticker, now I know this is a great deal but all the HHR SS folks are telling me I am crazy to consider a V6 Camaro, how do they run? My wife has a '17 Impala w/ the 3.6 and it's got decent power but its nothing like my 2.0 LNF?

I know a Camaro isnt an ideal family vehicle but we have the Impala and I am not in the market to spend $40k for a sedan with any decent performance.

V6 1LE on paper and performance wise is right there with an E46 M3. It's a ton of car for the money! Have you watched Motor Trends head 2 head with it and the M2? It's helluvah car

I have not and will check it out, I am thinking now is the time to buy if I want to since the '19 model is coming out and not many people are looking for the V6 1LE and most V6 buyers don't want a manual.

i would do that deal. The camaro is a great platform and that particular setup is fantastic for the money. No offense, but a camaro is imho more easier on the eyes too.

The Camaro barely has a functional back seat and a trunk hole 1/4 the size of the trunk. It's a great car... but not a great family car.

Good point. Any chance he can buy the camaro and keep the hhr for family I wonder. Can't imagine a dealer is giving any real good trade value for that car.

IDK... the HHR is pretty old so maybe it's paid off? If so, best to keep it.

It’s paid off but I would sell it outright rather than trade it in and get raped on that deal. My wife has an impala that we would use for trips and such but I don’t want to get something impractical but I do want something enjoyable to drive. There is a local 2016 SS w/ 9k miles but it’s $40k and I don’t want to spend that kind of coin on something the kids will be in. That’s why this deal caught my eye, $24k for a fun car that won’t break the bank was what peaked my intrest.

If your kids are in car seats still great, they will fit. If they need any leg room you're gonna have a bad time. These cars have very little to no rear leg room.

Mine are 6 and 9 both boys that are pretty tall already. I am going to have to go look at one with the family and see how it would work out.

What do you want for it? Those LNF cars are a ton of fun!

I haven't decided if I want to sell it yet, thats why its such a tough decision for me. It's practical and a blast to drive.
