Buypower points for accesories?

Can you purchase gm accesories with your buy power points? I was looking at my statement and there was a offer that says. Get 20% of gm accesories up to $500. So has anyone used there points to get accesories or can they only be used for a new vehicle?

That would be nice... but unless a special offer is running I would say no. I read on the Vette forums that back in 2012 there was a trial run of using points for parts/service to selected GM Card members. If it went full throttle, I'm sure we would have heard about it.

From the card FAQ, it sounds like you can only redeem extra points toward accessories at the time of purchase. But it doesn't say you can go over your max redemption per vehicle, so likely that is just marketing talk to get you to spend more on your vehicle since you're discounting it up to the maximum redemption limit.

Yes, it IS a special going on now. I saw the 20% off banner while accessing my GM points on their site. Although clicking on it doesn't bring me to a page with details about it so I don't know more than that.

With that said, I'm thinking you could probably get most of the accessories from other sources that would still be cheaper than from GM and the 20% off coupon.

Yes that's the same advertisement I saw. I'm gonna have to give them a call to get further details
