Sixty seven...closing in on 68 in a few months. Was a car nut putting together AMT models when I was 8 or 9 years old. Then hanging out with older brothers of my friends with their cars. Finally old enough for my own first car, 1957 Chevy in 1967.

Had a new 1969 SS396 chevelle, a heavily modded 1970 Chevy Nova with a 383 small block. Over the years had 1965, 1967 and 1969 Corvette's. Years later in the 1990's bit again by the car bug and restored a 69 Chevelle SS as well as a 1955 Chevy Handyman Wagon.

Had several BMW 2002 sedans, a Bavaria and a couple of Porsches.

VERY happy with my 2017 1SS. Light years away in handling, braking, performance, RELIABILITY and overall quality....versus the old stuff.

You've got that right! Although I look back fondly at the various older cars (especially my '69 Mustang fastback Cobra Jet with the 428), this car is world class in all ways. The capabilities have improves so much. Good time to be a car guy.

I've got all you guys beat. I'm 76 and my latest Camaro is a '16 SS vert. I've had 14 Corvettes over the years and have always been a "hot rodder". I also have a few collector cars, of which my favorite is a '57 Chevy vert with a Corvette LS-2 engine and trans. For some of us old guys the thrill of a fast car never goes away. I've had my '57 Chevy and my '68 Olds 442 on a total of 5 trips from coast of coast. Two trips coast to coast in a ' 12 Corvette. Have had my '16 Camaro for a little less than a year and we're heading out in it for a cross country trip probably in Oct. I enjoy driving and my wife enjoys riding, so as long as our health holds out, we're going to enjoy life our way. We both are very fortunate to be in good health and financially able to do these things.
We're very blessed and know it.

56 here, and like others, had to wait for the kids to "get older and move out". I ended up raising the first 3 by myself as a single parent, so $$ was exceptionally tight. Re-married in 2002 and had another daughter - child Number 4. Just retired 3 months ago, after 37+ years as a LEO.....

Initially wanted the ZL1, but once I saw the Anniversary vert, I was sold...... Loving every minute of it! Very blessed..........

I'm 56 and just semi-retired earlier this year. Started my own company, work my own schedule.

Bought my Camaro 50 Convertible in January so that I'd have my retirement car before I had to turn in the company car. Never owned a convertible before, so it was a question of Corvette or Camaro.

Before I started getting assigned company cars I owned a C4 Corvette, a Bonneville SSEi with 3800 SC and a few other ok but not particularly sporty cars. Going waaay back to when I started working for General Motors, I owned (4) Mustangs. Wrap your head around that! In fact, I had (2) 1979 Mustang Indy Pace Cars at the same time! Was looking for a 5.0L but could only find 2.3 Turbo, so I bought it. A few months later a 5.0L became available, so I bought it too.

Anyway, I feel like I'm at a great age. Old enough to know better and young enough to do it anyway.

Hey I resemble that...... 62 yo and my first Camaro was a 82' Z 28 with a manual trans, than an IROC in 85. Switched to Trans Ams, GTO now back to SS.

Still driving in a spirited manner..... Rock ON.....

I'm 75 and lovin my '17 SS. In 1965 after college graduation bought a new GTO. Then a '69 Camaro SS, '71 Trans Am, '77 Z28, '79 Trans Am. During the 80's it was Porsche 911's, Alfa GTV6, '85 Vette. In the 90's more Porsches then a '99 Vette. Next came the Twenty first century with Audi's and GTI's. AND now it's a return to my American muscle past - been a great motorhead life!

To my pleasant surprise, more seasoned drivers in their late 50's to their 70's were weighing in. Hey if the Camaro itself is 50, I should have expected there were many enthusiasts that are even older.
I'm 58 and got the muscle car bug when my uncle bought a new 1968 Firebird 400 with a "4 on the floor". It was pure muscle, the only extra was an FM radio with a rear speaker. Every component under the hood was easily identifiable. There was no AC, and not even power steering, brakes, let alone windows. But as a kid in that passenger seat, the acceleration was intoxicating. When I was old enough to drive, my uncle was willing to pass that prize to me. My dad had less adventurous ideas and wouldn't let me have it.
I never got over my attraction to American muscle and got my first thing close with an '89 Mustang GT. In '94, I got a Z28. Living where snow occurs sometimes into April, I couldn't count on RWD to get me to work every day. I had to settle for more practical, less exciting alternatives. Then a crazy thing happened in 2013. I entered a supermarket chain sponsored contest and, against tall odds, I won a car. The details of that event are best saved for a separate thread. It was a V6 Camaro automatic coupe. I traded up for a 2SS M6 convertible. It was a luxury I wouldn't have bought on my own, and didn't realize how much I'd enjoy. Most of the miles put on it we're from drives taken, top down, deliberately planned for the purpose of taking it for a ride.
I'm not a big believer in these sort of things, but it's nice to think my dad, who died several years ago, had a hand in my good fortune of winning that contest. In retrospect, the somewhat reckless driving of my youth may well have killed me or someone else, in my uncle's radial tired Pontiac. It took me a very long time, but I eventually realized my dad was looking out for me.
I sold my '13 to a co-worker a few months ago and now have a '17 2SS convertible. I love it, and now enjoy knowing there are many other "young at heart drivers" sharing their enthusiasm at this nice forum.
Just turned 58 here. I bought my first Camaro in 1978, a 1975 Type LT Camaro. Since then I've owned at least one Camaro the whole time, total eleven all together. I still have the first Camaro that I bought new, my 1979 Z-28 that I got when 20 years old. Now I enjoy my 2017 ZL-1! Had a 68, 2x69s, 71, 75, 3x79, 13, 16, 17.

The ones I miss: a 1971 SS-350 Camaro I owned in 1978-9 with only 40k miles, and a 1969 Camaro SS-350 owned from 1995-2002 lost due to divorce. The 69 was an SS clone, but I did a lot of the restification myself, so I had a lot of "me" invested. I really miss that one...

I'm 69 and we have basically the same car. I've had 5 Camaros and all of them since 2013. I've got the trading in bug going, not to mention my second (or third) childhood.
