I thought the real time traffic update on the nav was part of the xm data pack they are pushing... i could be wrong, rare... but it happens.

yes you are correct, the traffic is part of XM. I thought you meant the navigation itself was part of XM.

Its a turn by turn with Onstar, it shows turns in a small box where an album icon would be, it also shows turns in the HUD , it worked good for me , I called Onstar and the directions were sent to my screen.

On the 13's with nav you can select your destination in the on star app then send it to turn by turn or to the in car nav. Pretty sweet! I have used it several times. I search for my destination in my house and send it to the car. Then it's ready to go moments after starting the car.

+1

Not sure if it still works. But you used to be able to send turn by turn to onstar from the phone app even if you didn't have that feature enabled on your subscription.

Yes I do... The 13 screen is much bigger and it functions pretty well. The voice updates mute the radio and the graphic display is actually pretty good. I would venture to say better than on my IPhone.

Used the iPhone app for OnStar nav extensively this past weekend on an out-of-towner and it worked flawlessly. Audible announcements and the distance bar with countdown on the center display made it easy peezy to get where I needed to go on several legs of the trip...

I haven't played with the navigation yet, since I pretty much always know where I'm going. Seeing the pic you posted showed me I need to turn it on and mess with it. Mine doesn't look like yours. Guess I gotta make some adjustments.

Yes and a tablet and a laptop and two cans and a string. GM has got their nav setup right. Love clicking on an icon and bringing up the phone number or adding it to the contacts or.... two clicks and I am making a hands free call on the fly. Very smooth. Google maps is my second choice but they are way behind for real time navigation compared to this mylink/nav setup.

How did you get yours to look like that! Mine is certainly different...
