CAI INTAKE.......... BEST F* MOD EVER
I've always been into looks of the car before anything, but I've always wanted an intake.
So a very very very good deal came up for a Cold Air Inductions intake so I got it. As soon as it came, I installed it. I'm not a very mechanical guy, from a 1-10 possibly a 2 at most. I have to say, the installation is SUPER EASY. Just follow the instructions I turned on the car and took it for a drive. (here comes the "best f* mod ever.") I felt the power increase and as well as a faster response, BUT THAT GROWL FROM THE ENGINE IS JUST BREATHTAKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am very satisfied with it and I should've bought this earlier. If anyone is thinking about getting an intake, GO CAI, you won't EVER regret it |

Nice to hear, wait to you really get bit by the MOD bug and decide to get deeper into things. What trim is your car?

Wait until you add the Racing Scoop and WW relocate kit, and also the Ported Throttle body.
Install of the scoop is a little more complex (on a 1-10, maybe a 3-4) But the ported throttle body install is super easy, a 1 on a 1-10 scale. Ported throttle body will give you better throttle response that you can immediately notice

What is a racing scoop? And does the throttle body really do it's job? I've seen some people say it doesn't but since they're isn't many mods to do for the LFX engine I want to get it. |

The racing scoop is a scoop that attaches under the CAI intake, and pushes cold air from the front outside grille up into the intake, good for a few HP when you are moving. To do this mod, you also need to remove or relocate the stock Windshield Washer bottle.
I have the Vmaxx ported throttle body. It does work, snappier throttle response. The 5th gen Camaro is a drive by wire system, which means you step on the accelerator, and the computer decides how much to open the throttle body, The porting removes unnecessary metal from the interior of the throttle body, giving it more snap. Also, now there is the Vitesse Throttel Controler, which changes the computer settings of the throttle body and makes it open faster as well. Apparently, the install is a breeze. So to go back on topic about the intake, yes, it is an awesome upgrade for this engine.
I went from stock intake/stock exhaust to stock intake/GMPP exhaust, and the improvement in noise was barely noticeable. But then I went from stock intake/GMPP exhaust to CAI intake/GMPP exhaust, the car was easily 2-3x louder than when I upgraded the exhaust. Breathing better ftw. |

So he's my question, since the TC is out, is it even worth it to go with the port TB? |

I can attest to the growl, my 9 year old daughter thought I added an exhaust, I had only added the CAI!
