http://media.chevrolet.com/media/us/...peed-lead.html (ITS exactly the same....only the Camaro SS has a 2.77 axle ratio) 1st: 4.56 2nd: 2.97 3rd: 2.08 4th: 1.69 5th: 1.27 6th: 1.00 7th: 0.85 8th: 3.82 Axle ratio: 2.73 (Stingray with Z51) It turns 11s in the 1/4...so I wouldn't be too concerned.

No 7 speed manual?
Does that mean no 8 speed auto? |

Yep, Chevy is reviving the 2 speed Powerglide figuring since all a dragster needs in an automatic is two speeds than that should be all an everyday street driver needs.

Camaro Convert
I have never owned a Camaro...mostly Mustangs. Not because I think they suck, but just because they didn't do it for me (except a '69 or '70 SS or Z/28!!!). However, I love this freaking Sixth Gen Camaro! I really, really like what Chevy has done with it. I have almost two years on my 2014 Mustang GT, and I love my car, but it'll almost certainly be traded in on a new Camaro next year!! Totally digging the Corvette motor and the weight reduction.
Ford did a great job with the new Mustang (save adding all that weight), but Ford doesn't get it...automatic transmissions are the faster choice these days (even if less fun)...especially 8-speed trannys. So when Ford offered only a manual in the upcoming Shelby GT350, they made it less fast by default. Chevy, however, gets it. That's why the C7 is about the best sports car on the market today ...certainly factoring in price. At any rate, I think my next car will be a blue Camaro SS with that 8 speed auto. I freaking cannot wait to test drive one later this year. Bravo to the Bowtie Boys!!! |

2 questions. Is the RS package available for the SS? Can you control different aspects of the car separate from the driver modes? For example can you put the NPP exhaust in stealth mode on its own? The same with the magnetic ride control?

From what I understand all the RS equipment is standard on the SS.

Thanks. Kind of weird to not have an SS/RS this time around. I do think that they put more effort into the RS package this time around. The front fascia is actually different than the standard LT fascia, not just the chrome strips added.

i was thinking the same regarding rs, and trying to figure this out. on my 2010 ss/rs, the only thing the rs option gave me was the halo hid lights b/c i upgraded to polished aluminum wheels, but it was worth it. i look forward to finding a definitive answer on the question

As far as I know the standard and RS versions of the LT have the same front fascia, it just has the HID headlights with the LED strips and chrome pieces on the upper and lower grills. Did I miss something else different about the front fascia?

Yeah. Look at the bottom of the RS fascia. It's more aggressive. You can really see it in this pic. Comparing the 2 silver cars I can see a difference. It could be the different angles though. The chin spoiler looks like it sticks out farther on the left silver car.
