"Reengineered from the Inside Out"
I got my first e-mail from the mailing list, it contained that slogan. To immediately over-analyze it, it sounds like they want people to focus on the new interior and performance enhancements (and brace for exterior to look similar to 5th)

That's fine with me. Love the look of the 5g, interior sucks though.

I think it's funny how people said they were worried that they would move too far away from the 5th gen styling, now I hear a lot of it looks too much like a 5th gen.... Chevy couldn't win no matter what it looks like.

Im with Mako22. GM knew that interior was a sore spot for a lot of enthusiests. They want to make clear that was the 1st objective for the new car.

The only criticism I have of the interior is it's hard to see out of.
I guess I'm wondering what else do people expect?? More luxury options? More...lights? I'm not looking for a Euro car with stock refrigerated carbon fiber cup holders that are specifically put in just to price peasants like me out of the market. |

I kinda like my 5th Gen interior ..... would have much rather had more gear options for my 6-speed Auto, like Posi, 3.43/3.73/3.91, considering we have an OverDrive tranny better gearing should be an easy option ... and little less weight ...

I really like the 5th gen interior. Dash and gauges have that old school look and Mylink and ABL lighting sets if off. It could use more ABL lighting (along dash & door handles along with led footwells) and definitely could use more visibility.. Hope the 6th gen interior doesn't go for the Euro look ...remember it's muscle car.

From the inside out would simply mean a complete change to me.
Not sure I would look at it any more than using the phrase "inside out". "We turned the place inside out and couldn't find the keys to that new Camaro"

Not trying to insult anyone, I think the interior "plastic" has been fine - it is a Muscle car. Not like anyone sits there stroking the dash constantly - that would mean you aren't driving it much because you're too busy feeling all the plastic.
It's like GM can't win sometimes. "The 5th Gen is great - I hope they don't change it too much" "I hope it's not just a simple remodel of the 5th Gen" To each their own.... |

The hard shiny plastic everywhere in the 5th gen was pathetic. I get it that the entry priced models will have interiors that are scaled back a bit. The 2LT, SS models, and ZL1 should have much nicer interiors though. A 2LT starts at like $30k. There isn't a car on the market costing that much with a worse interior. When you start asking $35-50k for a vehicle, it needs to look like one, inside and out. I can't believe how many people defend the 5th gen's poor interior considering that's the part of the car you spend the most time looking at. |
