TIRESSSSSSSSS!?!!
Im obviously having trouble driving my Camaro in the snow.
Any suggestions on what type of model tires i should get for the winter, would all season tires be good ? Or just stick to winter tires but then change to summer tires? And at a reasonable price, not trying to go over $800. Thinking about going to Sears. :read thethread:

Check Out Tire Rack. They are very good and can help with what you need. Too many choices to try and answer your question.

Good quality snow tires aren't going to be cheap.

Like anything else, there is pros and cons.
All Season Tires - Pro: Use year round Con: Decent Performance Winter Tires - Pro: Great snow/ice performance Con: Must swap twice a year Pick whatever is most important to you.

Blizzaks are great. I have them on my Charger and they are fantastic on snow & ice.

you get what you pay for.
I bought a set of Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow for my Camaro SS (manual) and this is the third winter i had them and i have never been stuck once even in the weather we had hear in Chicago. Sometimes even going down un-plowed alleys and passing SUV's. I put them on my stock rims because i can't use steel rims on my SS (brake issues), but i think you can put them on your v6 and i think the 18 rim would fit (cheaper tires in 18") btw there is a tire thread http://www.camaro5.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=28 and a sponsored tire sale thread http://www.camaro5.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=82 and a members tire sale thread http://www.camaro5.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=104 btw Pirelli, Blizzak, are the best ( headed good thing about Michelin (i think they were X-Ice Xi3) form a mustang owner) you are still looking to spend at around $800 on new tire, maybe alittle more for good tires. |

Pirelli Scorpians here, about $1,200.00 all in but worth every penny, my RWD sports car is safer than my wife's minivan....

If you're able to pick up a set of 18" wheels, the tires will be less. I have winter tires on both mine and my wife's Camaro. I put Goodyear UltraGrip GW3's on my wife's car. (I have the Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow, but they're not available in 18's anymore. You can always check out tire rack, but send me a PM or check out the local forum, we've got a local sponsor that can take care of you, too.

+1 for Pirelli Scoprion Ice & Snow. My 5th gen truly honestly handles better than the 4wd Trailblazer I previously owned! I've watched countless times as I've driven through a section of snow effortlessly while the cars behind me are spinning out or fish tailing.
