Why, Just Why or How to ruin your Camaro

Saw this yesterday on my way home. All I could do is shake my head and say WTF.

Saw this at a dealer lot. The wheel wells were butchered.

There is a lot that type of thing where I live. I think it is ridiculous and destroys a car's value but it isn't my money.

What's crazy is that unlike home-made diy ricer crap ....rims like that cost some pretty decent money (plus the rubber). Money that has literally an infinite number of better uses that they passed over to buy those rims to put on those cars.

I can't explain it. Like going to a dealership or a store for something expensive and not knowing what you want ahead of time ...it's one of those things where you just dont want to know the state of mind that allows that train of thought.

rims and tires are worth more than the entire car. Thats got to make the cars handle like crap.

I wonder if there still is a correlation between where you live and the kind of car culture that exists these days.

Are low riders even still a thing for hispanics? Are white guys still lifting their trucks and driving around with fully exposed wheels on the highway? Is ricing cars up still just for asian and 19 year old white kids? I'm assuming we're stereotyping black guys with the big rims even though I'm sure mental illness is not race specific and that's obviously what these people suffer from in those pics.

Just about the only stereotype i know of that is still somewhat applicable is that rich kids like to rent exotic cars and pretend they own them. But maybe it's still a thing in other places in the country.

Living in Houston, I can answer yes to all of those. Lowriders, ricers, and 4x4 with huge lifts an exposed tires are normal though not necessarily by the races you indicated. So let's say that it is a cross-cultural issue.
