He'd be mighty disappointed if he drove the auto and found out it was slower.

You know what, nevermind. If he really said what you said he said, he probably can't shift the manual properly, so the auto will feel faster.

I think it all comes down to preference with how far modern automatic technology has come. It won't be long before there's no debate and the automatic is the superior option. Even at that, I still prefer the mechanical feel of pushing a clutch and rowing through the gears.

For me, driving an automatic is just more practical since it's my city (Boston) DD. My ZL1 (or maybe GTR?) will be automatic. Let someone try to dub me inferior with either of those cars .

And if you want high-revs, most high-revving vehicles have dual-clutch transmissions anyway...

Sorry man, tough order to swallow I know, but your car just isnt a muscle car unless you have a manual transmission. You could get a ZL-1 and its considered a pinto if you got the auto.

Wow... I'd choose the manual any day(I did). The auto would be faster is he wasn't good with the clutch yet, but the manual will always feel faster.

the manual will limit who can "borrow" the car, that's a good thing

I agree. A new car isn't for you if you can't afford 800 more on a 23K car.

I have an auto SS. I pulled up to a local sandwich shop and saw a v6 camaro. I commented that I liked his synergy paint and he replied. Is that the SS? I said yes it is. His reply after he looked in my window. Oh you forgot to get the stick shifter. I then said well atleast I didn't forget my other 2 pistons like yourself. His face turned red and he walked away. Now I must remind you I complimented his car and then he tried to get smart with me... Who the heck knows with people anymore lol
