On my L99 1st especially & 2nd are geared on the low side which helps launching the car. My GMC pickup has an A6 in it and those gears are really tall in comparison to my Camaro.....

I found this at GM Authority website showing the gearing for the A8 vs A10. The site didn't confirm this was the gearing for the Camaro SS but I would think it had to be close because they were talking about the Zl1 and comparing gear ratios of the two transmissions

Has anyone swapped over the lt1 and A8 trans into a 5th gen yet? That would be interesting to see. I wonder what Gm will do after the LT engines in the future

I have been stagnant here on C5 for over a year and as soon as I saw this I logged in to say, HELL NO!

Why must every car maker think the absorber bar area in the bumper will look good if they paint it to somewhat match the darkness of the upper and lower grille?

Wow, I'm done with chevy. The silverado and suburban/tahoe have been the only normal still "American" looking models. Guess I have to buy a corvette now. Lol

Btw, having a black car myself. I wish good luck to people who are careless with their car during love bug season.

That look kinda resembles what people do to try and make their Scion resemble a Mclaren.

Not likely to happen. Too much of a headache to get the electronics to work.

Don't like it my opinion worse then 6th gen. I bought the last year of 5th gen because I didn't like the 6th. Makes me love my car even more.

I agree. It looks astoundingly stupid. Why not just eliminate it and extend the grille? Just make each side of the car have a “split bumper” perse. Look 10000x better.
