It's a fantastic car to drive in all conditions. It's not a faberege egg. I like to keep mine super clean three seasons and let loose in the winter. No major damage is done that a little driveway detailing can't fix. I like admiring everyone's show quality rides. You guys do a great job. I just enjoy a stress free ride down the road where a rock chip doesn't ruin my day.

A good thread to show how you do as you please. Some people want a show car, others want to drive it all the time. To each their own.

I have a 79 Corvette that hibernates for the winter, I knew from the beginning that my 17 1SS is going to be an all-season driver so I got a full clear bra xpel package for the front/rear bumper, hood, and front/rear quarter panels. Now I just wash her off in the self service washes every week and all the salt comes right off. There's something really really special about driving these cars in the winter, it's a really cool feeling to be out on the roads ripping it up in the snow on Blizzaks. Plus these LT1s lllooovveee the cold air.

I don't have a garage. Therefore it's not a garage queen. Not only that, but I have to drive it when it gets too cold out because the Miata is wearing Azenis on it atm.

No car washes where you all live?
and yes I remember driving all my old F bodies in the snow.. allot ( I still own 2 second gens ) they don't get driven in the snow anymore .. that's what Subaru's are for the 6th gen SS has summer only tires so no snowdrifting in it. Could be fun though.. na I'm just too old. I'll let you guys smack the curbs for me. ( that makes me cringe just thinking of it ) |

That's fake dirt though!! Lol
Funny, many of us freak if we get a little rock chip. Others however, spend money on faux rust and bullet holes! Lol Modern faux rat rod? I get it though. Looks like a war torn Bumblebee transformer. Kinda cool and I'm sure it draws attention. On another note, as a classic car/hotrod guy, I've never considered a modern car a show car unless substantially modified. Far too often I've been to car shows where some dude with a brand new, stock Viper, corvette, Camaro, Challenger, or Mustang shows up and wins a big fat trophy. Meanwhile those of us with hand built, fully custom muscle cars and hot rods got jack squat. My car club had a motto: built not bought... I bought my camaro for the fun of driving not sitting in a lawn chair at shows but I still keep it clean and covered in the garage unless it is a nice day. Only my truck daily driver sees all weather because, well, it's a truck. Lol |
